Trigger warning for death, depression, and suicide:

Everyone in SHIELD Academy could tell something was wrong. Ever since Aunt May died at the hands of the Sinister Six, something was very off. Spider-Man had gone quiet. He only talked the bare minimum, locking himself away most of the time. Those with enhanced senses could smell blood. No one knew what to do, Spidey refused to talk about it. Oh, the others tried and tried, but he refused to open up. They thought maybe if they gave him some space he would figure it out on his own. They were wrong. They were so wrong.

...

During the funeral everyone was devastated. They knew none of them would ever forget Harry's scream when he found Peter on the floor, laying in a puddle of his own blood. Some of them couldn't believe it. There was no way this was really happening. They were going to wake up in a few minutes and Spidey would be messing around and quipping just like he used to. Some of them were numb. That kind of numb that only comes with extreme sadness. Others were already breaking down. None of them were okay, not even close.

That night Flash woke up from a nightmare. It was about Peter. Flash couldn't save him in time. As he sat up, he heard what sounded like crying. He looked around trying to figure out who it was and to his surprise, it was Ben. The normally serious, sarcastic Scarlet Spider was sobbing his eyes out. Flash walked over and sat next to Ben, who desperately tried to cover his tears. They spent the rest of the night talking about how guilty they both felt. Since that night they have been best friends, pretty much inseparable.

Eventually everyone started felling back into their old routines, with some changes of course. They never fully recovered, even Fury was affected for life (the heroes didn't know he had been crying just as much as they had, just locked in his office). It was hard, but they helped each other, and always tried to do the right thing. Like Spider-Man would want. Like Peter Parker would want.

...

Peter woke up in a place he had never been before. At first he was confused, then he remembered what he had done. Suddenly, someone walked in and called his name. He asked Peter to follow him. So Peter did. The guy, who's name was Thomas, explained to Peter that he was in heaven. That he would never go back. He took Peter to a nice little house that seemed so familiar. That's when Peter realized it was his house. Or at least a perfect copy of it. Thomas told him there were people inside waiting for him. Peter was confused. Who could possibly be waiting for him? At Thomas's instructions, he opened the door and walked into the living room. Sitting there, talking and laughing, were his parents, Uncle Ben, and Aunt May. Ben noticed Peter first. What followed was a lot of hugs and kisses and catching up with each other. Everyone there was so proud of Peter and all the good he had done as Spider-Man, but sorry for the way he died. Peter, though he was sad to leave his friends, was happy to be with his family again.
