"Nice work everyone!" Joestar clutched his side, where his previous wound had reopened. "Everyone's alive right?" He looked around. Magician's Red stood next to Avdol who was holding a bloodied cloth up to his forehead.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
"I'm fine captain. Just a graze." Avol panted, wincing from the pressure Red was applying to the wound.
"Hermit, get the kit." Joestar demanded, worried his friend was going to die on him. Hermit Purple dashed off, the most uninjured person on the ship, and grabbed the sack they used as a med kit. Walking up to Avdol, he shoved Red away and peeled the bloody rag away. There was a sword gash, and a bullet scrape. Both bled heavily.
"Get me some water." He ordered, taking charge of the situation. Once a water pail was brought over, Purp dipped a rag in water and squeezed it over the wounds, cleaning it out the best he could without modern day technology. After he washed it out, he held a rag to it and applied pressure. Red held it against his head again while Hermit took out a needle and thread to sew the gashes closed. After cleaning them with alcohol, to the despair of a few crewmates *cough* Polnareff and Chariot *cough*, he peeled the rag away to find the blood flow slowing and gave Avdol a stick to bite down on.
"This, is going to hurt like hell and I am sorry Master Avdol." Hermit spoke softly before sticking the needle in his skin, sewing the gashes closed. Avdol let out the occasional grunt, but for the most part, clenched his teeth on the stick and smashed Red's hands. About ten minutes later it was done and the bleeding had stopped.
"Thank you, Hermit." Avdol panted, tired from losing a lot of blood. Hermit just nodded, and packed the things away once more.
"Rest now. Drink some to numb the pain. Red, take him below to rest." Hermit ordered, patting the taller males shoulder. As Magician's Red helped the hobbling Avdol downstairs, the other part of the crew cleaned up the bodies and the blood. Joestar gave Hermit a side hug, thanking him for saving his friend.
"It was nothing sir. In due time, I will save more people. It's all part of my job." Hermit spoke, putting away the bag where he got it from.
Elsewhere, in a room full of darkness
A leather clad hand slammed down onto a tabletop, angrily. The owner of the hand growled loudly, startling the other male in the room. Chains rattled loudly as he flinched.
"Why in the blimy hell has everyone failed?! Imbeciles. Suck ups. I'll have to do it myself." The leather clad male stood up harshly, chair scooting back from his desk with a loud screech. "The World!" He shouted. The smaller male in the dark room flinched, and stood up. The chains around his ankles and wrists rattled with the movement.
"Yes Master Dio?"
On The Stardust
"But isn't the point of writing shit on maps to make it legible for the navigator to read it?" Polnareff complained, staring at the chicken scratch that was Avdol's notes on the map he held.
"Boss, you know he's only trying to help." Chariot mused. His smile was prominent as he looked at his master whose face was bright red. Polnareff's eyes shot up to meet Chariot's.
"I! Can't! Read! This!" He screamed, and Chariot jumped while laughing. The two were up in the crows nest once again as the ship was moving on open water again. "Quit Laughing!" Polnareff shouted, embarrassed. He folded the map and put it in the knapsack that he kept with him. The sun was beginning to set, and Chariot brought his laughter to a close, wiping the tears from his eyes. Angry and embarrassed Polnareff had folded his arms, pouting while leaning up against the side of the circle.
"Leave me alone you twat." He spat, glaring. Silver Chariot snickered, walking over in the tiny space and placed both his hands on the sides of the railing beside Polnareff, cornering him.
"You're only saying that cuz he ain't paying you enough attention huh boss?" He smirked, his face and lips really close to the other males. Polnareff turned red at the close proximity.
"Chariot really, now?" He spoke. The two had sort of a 'friends with benefits' type situation, so this was not all that weird for them.
Down Below-On The Deck
"I! Can't! Read! This!" Was heard from above. Avdol chuckled, remembering he was the one who had written on the maps.
"I don't think he can read that map." Red chuckled, walking up beside his master on the helm. Avdol shook his head.
"You're correct Red." He placed his hands on the railing. The Fool was standing on the front bow of the ship, watching out for any enemies. Iggy was beside him, chewing on some rope.
"What do you think they're doing up there?" Red spoke softly, talking about Polnareff and Silver Chariot.
"I wouldn't know Red, I don't peer in on other people's lives." Avdol lightly elbowed the other male.
"Well. I think he likes you boss. But if he does anything I'll shoot him in his forehead." Red took out a pistol from his belt and examined it. Avdol's eyes widened.
"Woah wait what?" He said, turning to his special mate. Red nodded.
"It's quite obvious. Staring at you from above. Getting flustered at being handed a map from you. Quite the scoundrel I must say." He shoved the pistol back into his belt. On the horizon the sun was almost fully set.
"That sounds normal. The scoundrel part I mean. Am I blind? I have not noticed these things." Avdol spoke. He watched as Hermit Purple walked out of the captain's quarters and lit a torch to light the lamps on the ship. The small boy walked around the entire deck and lit the lamps. He placed the torch on a pedestal that sat next to the wheel. The night crew came up from the hull and began to take over the positions from the other pirates. The Fool and Iggy walked down to the hull to sleep, while Kakyoin and Hierophant walked side by side chit chatting to each other. Avdol looked up to the crows nest to see if the two up there would come down for once, and he saw the two climbing down the rope ladder. He raised an eyebrow, seeing Polnareff's headband on Chariot but he didn't pay much attention. Their faces were flushed as the two walked down to the hull to sleep. As everyone retired for the night, the stars came out one by one to welcome them to a warm and comforting sleep.
