"I'm going to be sore tomorrow." I giggled, snuggling my face closer to Eli's bare chest on the couch, watching the sky out the picture windows turn pink and orange around the Eiffel Tower. It was my first Paris sunrise and definitely my favorite.

"I'll be sore too." Eli grunted and I picked my head up to glare at him. "What?! I will!" He insisted. "I swear I pulled a muscle in my back from that pretzel you put me in."

"You said you wanted to try it!" I accused.

"You and your dirty porn watching ass..." Eli grumbled and I only laughed harder.

"You love my dirty porn watching ass."

"I do." He kissed the top of my head and I felt my eyelids drift closed a little, my exhaustion finally settling in. Eli and I had been up for hours, reconnecting with feverish bouts of love making, and just plain fucking at times.

I felt sleep clawing at the edges of my subconscious, begging to pull me under, but the shrill ringing of my cellphone pulled me from the precipice.

"Make it stop." Eli groaned as my phone rang for a second consecutive time.

"It could be an emergency." I scolded, stumbling naked across the living room to dig beneath clothing and blankets to find my iPhone.

Collins' smirking face filled the screen, requesting to FaceTime with me...at five in the morning, eight P.M. Malibu time. I quickly grabbed my white runway shirt and pulled it over my head, not even bothering with any undergarments. I sat with my back to the fireplace that was still crackling, and was careful to angle away from a still very naked Eli...that would take some explanation.

"Hello?" I answered and swallowed as her distressed face popped up onto the screen.

"Avery!" She wailed and I stood, ready to run to help her with whatever had her so upset.

"What's wrong?!" I demanded.

"It's dad!" She wailed again and Eli rose too, tugging on his underwear.

"What about dad?!"

"He...he....he got me a new car." She cried harder and I could've rang her neck if we were on the same continent.

"Collins!" I snapped. "I thought someone died!"

"It's me! My reputation. It's officially dead!" She wailed dramatically and I'd never been so tempted to hang up on her in my life.

"What in the hell are you going on about?" I glared and Eli grinned wickedly from the couch, loving his front seat to the Adams sister drama. He'd been witnessing us argue for years, but still somehow got a kick out of it.

"Dad...he got me a car."

"Why does that kill your reputation?!"

"Because he got me this!" She flipped the view to her outer camera and I physically cackled.

In the driveway of our Malibu home sat an old Saturn sedan with chipped purple paint and ripped beige cloth seats beneath an electronic automatic seatbelt. It was official, my father was my favorite parent.

"I don't see the big deal...it's beautiful." I bit into my lower lip, not able to maintain a straight face.

"He said, 'since I couldn't take care of something nice, he'd get me something that I could handle for my senior year'."

"Sounds fitting."

"I hate you."

"No, you don't." I laughed. "You want to go to NYU anyways. You won't need a car in New York..."
