Ch 3: Pearl and Steven's Idea

Steven looked at Pearl as they were waiting for Emerald to come out.

"Pearl, Emerald has been acting really weird these past couple of days..." He said, with a worried look of concern on his face.

Pearl nodded and facepalmed.

"You're right, Steven. How could I be so blind? You don't suppose she... She's becoming corrupt?" She said, with a concerned look on her face as well.

Steven looked at the door and saw Emerald stepping out into the sunshine.

He saw that everything on Emerald was normal.

"Hi Steven. Hi, Pearl. What are you two doing here?" Emerald said, with wonder and nervousness in her voice.

Steven and Pearl looked at each other.

"Well, Emerald..." Steven began to say, slowly looking back at her.

Pearl kneeled down in front of the green colored gem.

"Steven and I know what's going on with you." She said, her hand on top of Emerald's.

Emerald then began to glow a turquoise green.

"You... You do?" She said, her body shifting up and down.

Pearl got up and took a step back from her.

The same thing that happened to Steven was now happening to Emerald.

"Yes we do." Pearl said, firmly.

Steven then got in front of Pearl.

"But don't you worry, Emerald. I have a great idea!" He said, excitedly.

"You do?" Pearl said, with an eyebrow raised as she was peeking out from behind Steven.

Steven looked at her and Emerald.

"Of course I do. Emerald, how would you like it if Rainbow Quartz 2.0 hangs out with you for a day? You know... Just to monitor your shape shifting?" He said, looking at the green gem.

Emerald was excited as she was now thinking.

Pearl looked at Steven.

"Steven, are you sure that we can handle it?" She said, in a low whisper.

Steven looked at her.

"Yes I'm sure, Pearl." He said, in an ecstatic low voice.

Pearl looked at him, with a stern look on her face.

"Remember what happened last time?" She said, in a low, stern voice.

Steven nodded.

"I had to split my schedule with being Rainbow Quartz 2.0 with you and being Sunstone with Garnet. I went crazy and fusion took a lot out of me." He said, reminiscing.

Pearl and Steven then looked back at Emerald.

"So, Emerald... What do you think?" Pearl said, with a smile.

Emerald smiled back.

"That sounds great. When can I... Can I..." She began to say, before she was shapeshifting up and down.

Steven and Pearl looked at her, concerned.

"You can meet him on Saturday, if you're not too busy with your job as a psychiatrist." Pearl said, helping Emerald calm down.

Emerald nodded and looked at them.

"That sounds great!" She said, glowing in ecstasy.

Steven and Pearl smiled in awe.

"That's the Emerald we know!" They said, together.

Emerald smiled and watched as Pearl and Steven walked away.

After Pearl and Steven were gone, Emerald sighed as she now walked back into her office and closed the door behind her.

She felt as if her corruption wasn't going to go away but maybe...
