All Is Fair In War

Chapter 2

Jade POV

I heard that all too familiar voice, that made my blood freeze. It was the stranger that I met on the way to school. It was the man who saved me from the car that almost hit me this morning. I didn't dare turn around because I knew he would disappear again. I stayed looking forward when I spoke, " Who are you?"

"You'll learn soon. Just go home." I was met with a deep, husky voice. Go home! How can I go home? I literally just set my whole school on fire with my own two hands and he expects me to go home? Fire was coming out of my hands and I don't have a single scratch and he expects me to go home! I whirl around and just like expected, he was gone. How could he do that? I shake it off and decide it's best to go home anyways.

As per usual no one was home. l went on going through my daily routine. I ate a snack, got into my comfy clothes and was setting up in my bed all cozy getting ready to do homework. I heard a knock on my front door. Ugh , I got up to get the door, when I was attacked by two arms. I let out a very loud shriek and turned around to find Alec staring down at me. She grabs the side of my face, " Are you okay?! I heard that the fire started in your classroom. Are you hurt? "

I was a little shocked, I mean, how the hell did she get into my house? "Alec , calm down , I'm fine. Just a little spooked"

Why wouldn't I be I'm the one that started the fire, but no way was I telling this crazy chick I'm fricken Ghost Rider. Caught up in my own thoughts I didn't notice she was circling me. "What are you doing?"

"I'm seeing if your lying about being okay, lift up your arms and take off your shirt."

"What?! Why does my shirt need to come off"

" I need to see if your injured, dumbass" She said in a duh voice like it was the most normal thing in the world

"No, i'm not taking my shirt off. It's embarrassing."

" Why? You got boobs, I got boobs, my fat neighbour has moobs, we all have them. Look, if it makes you feel better, i'll take my shirt off too." she starts to pull her shirt over her head. Not gonna lie, her body was super toned, I didn't expect that. I think I saw a glimpse of a six pack.  Then I registered what she was doing.

"Wait no! Alec put your shirt back on. It won't make me more comfortable, in fact it makes me more uncomfortable. I'll do it, just let me do it at my own pace."

I started walking into the other room, "Where are you going?" Alec called out.

"I'm changing in the other room."

"Why? I'm going to see you shirtless anyways."

"Just let me do it! I'll be more comfortable." she let me walk into the other room to take my shirt off. I reached down slowly to take my shirt off, I was kind of scared of what her reaction might be when she see's the scars on my back. I drop my shirt on the ground and slowly walk back out towards Alec. I hide half of myself behind the wall separating the rooms. She turns around when she hears me approach her and asks " What the hell are you hiding for?"

I realize that I can't show her. I've never let anyone see the scars. No one knows about them, and I feel like if I let someone see them, i'd be letting them see me scared and disfigured. I couldn't, I backed away and went to put my shirt back on. "Jade? Where are you going? Come back here."

"Sorry Alec, I can't. Just believe me when I say i'm fine. I swear I got out of the classroom before the fire got too bad." I made my way to get my shirt when Alec stormed into room, "Get your fucking ass over here now or i'll drag your sorry ass instead." Alec was furious. In a moment of concentration where everything froze, I dove for my shirt. All sense was out the window when my new life goal was to get my shirt before Alec got me. At the same time, Alec jumped for me. "You little shit. Get over here Jade! I don't have time for this. This isn't even the first time i've seen a shirtless girl. For god's sake, just get over here."
