The light flashed on from inside the door. "Come in."Someone called.
Sarah glanced at me. 'Why would he...or she have the light off but be inside?"
Una shrugged,"Dunno. But he sounds like a guy."
"Mmmm. Agree."I mumbled, staring at the speaker as if Ryo would come over it again.
Sarah rested her hand on the handle, and swallowed. "For some reason, I feel nervous."
"Just get on with it!"Una snapped, and Sarah gently pushed the door open.
The room was dimly lit, but I could see a figure at the back of the room. Bandages covered his wrists, and he had brown hair, and orange highlights. HIs back was turned, but he was dressed in simple black and orange clothes.
"N-Nile?!"Una gasped, nearly falling over. The Social Studies teacher turned, revealing his eyes to be green...it was Nile!
"That is my name, yes. Do I know you?"He eyed her warily. Una shook her head as she slipped into one of the backseats, Sarah plopping her books on her left, me on the right.
"I guess it makes sense. He's Egyptian, and we're studying that this year."
Kids soon were filling in. Logan and his brother, Luke, were here too. I looked over my shoulder at Una's schedule sticking out of her binder. "What do you guys have?"
Una tugged it out."Social Studies, Language Arts, Math, Lunch, Science, Health, and then Electives."She narrowed her eyes. "A looooong list of electives."
Sarah snorted,"I thought it was only possible to have one elect-"She was cut off by Luke, who was sitting in front of us.
"Cool! That's mostly the same schedule has me!"
I huffed,"Excuse me, no one asked you to butt in. Or your brother." I added, looking over at where the blonde had cocked his head to hear us.
Logan pretended to look hurt."Me? Butting in? Never!"
Una scowled at him. "Anyways, what about you,Sarah?"
"I'm in Math 8, not 7 Plus, so after home-room I go to Math, Social Studies, Language Arts, lunch, and Science. Then Health and all that stuff."
At that time, the 8:10 bell rang. The whole class, now fill with people rushing out the door now and then, stared up at the speaker. Nothing.
'"Ah, well, I guess we wait till the 15 bell."Nile said, turning back to where he was writing the date on the board with some rules.
At this, Luke pushed back his chair so he could speak more clearly. "I've got Language arts with you,"He said, pointing to Sarah, "And math with you."He pointed at Una.
All three of them directed their gaze to me. I twitched under them, and read my schedule."Nnngh...Social Studies, Math, Language Arts, lunch, Science...sweet, we all have Health at the same time!"
At my exclaim, NIle turned around and narrowed his eyes at the students. "Lower your chair please..."He stared at Luke.
"Oh. Luke...Mr...your last name is really Nile?"
The Social Studies teacher whipped around and was about to reply when the bell rung.
"Good morning, students."Hikaru said. "Welcome to your first day of school..."
I tuned out the rest like I always did in my old school. Sarah looked mildly intrested, while Una was doodling carelessly in her brand-new notebook.
There was a crackle as the speaker turned off, and Nile faced the desks.
"Who is Sarah?"He asked. The black-haired girl raised her hand.
"Oooooh, she's in trouble."Logan snickered.
Nile mentioned for Sarah to come over, and whispered something in her ear. THe girl nodded, grabbed her stuff, and left the room. "i'm guessing she's headed for Math..."Una muttered.
Nile faced the class once more. "Hello, I am your Social Studies teacher. Please just call me Nile. Since it's the first day, we won't get directly onto learning about Mesopotamia."He quickly started distributing white papers.
"Those papers are the class syllabus. But before we begin, I have to take role-call."
He actually got almost all the names right, besides a dirty blonde haired guy named Ammon, whose's name was actually pronounced, "Am-man." Besides Ammon, there was also Ciara, her name pronounced as "Kira.".
"Read over the paper please."Nile glared at Logan whispering to his brother. "Silently."
Logan took this as a sign to slam his mouth shut.

Nile allowed us to socalize with others the last 20 minutes. Raven was also in our class, and we had a nice talk with her. Una found other that she liked Heltia, or whatever its called.
"I'll leave you to that."I told the two, who were chatting away about Russia.
I wandered off, and noticed the dark-haired teen in the crowd. "Abhas?"
The black-haired boy grunted, looking up.
Abhas had been in my fifth grade class, as so had been Sarah.
"Oh, hey Tess."Abhas went back to talking with Ammon, who nodded at me.
"Ru-ude..."I muttered, but I saw Abhas smirk, kinda like, and that's coming from you?
I turned away from my old classmate, and found myself face-to-face with Logan sitting on my desk.
Logan smirked, purposely knocking my pencil pouch off the table. It landed with a thump on the ground.
"What do you want?"I snapped.
Now I remember why he seemed so falmiliar. Logan had come to my house every day in kindergarten because both his parents had to leave work early, and didn't yet trust Logan, and his older brother, Riley, to be in the house alone. Logan grew harsh over the year till he moved away to Florida in first grade. I had forgotten about him.
"Aw, the little Tess is mad that someone knocked over her pencil pouch..."
"That's funny, coming from someone's who's shorter then me."
Nile had been listening from his desk in the corner near us. "That's enough."He said quietly for us to hear. "Please return to your seats, and start packing up."He glanced at his watch.
Our school wasn't one that had bells to show to switch classes. "Alright, you may go!"
All the kids headed out the door.
"I think all our teachers are bladers."Una hissed to me as she passed while heading to her locker.
"I second that."I said, crouching and putting in my locker number. I had Math next...and, personally, I was scared on who it was.
