His multicolored eyes locked onto me and I felt paralyzed.

"There you are~" He smirked, raising his scythe.

After a second, I snapped out of my trance and slapped him with the frame. He let out a cry in pain as glass shattered into his face. "HA!" I yelled, jumping out of the box and darting out of the room.

"GET BACK HERE!" He yelled. I heard his footsteps behind me, but I didn't dare turn around. After what felt like an eternity of running through alleys with a serial killer on my tail, I saw an elevator.

"Hell yeah..." I muttered to myself, the relief of finding a way out causing me to pick up the pace.
Unfortunately, he did to.
Just as I was right in front of the elevator, I felt a sharp pain in my scalp as he grabbed my hair and yanked me back. I let out a cry in pain, feeling myself slam into the wall.
He smirked and let out a wild laugh, sending shivers down my spine.
"You probably thought you were going to escape, huh? Sorry to burst your bubble, but it ain't gonna happen!" He said, raising his scythe.
I rolled to the right and assumed I had dodged it, before I felt a pain in my left arm so unbearable I thought I'd pass out from it.
"CRAP!" He yelled, causing my eyebrows to raise slightly.

I glanced to see.. No..
It couldn't be.
My eyes went wide as I saw a bloody arm lying on the ground. It was.. Mine.
I covered my mouth with my right hand and jumped away.
He stared at the dismembered arm for a little bit longer before I grabbed it and jumped into the elevator, slapping the button like my life depended on it... Because it did.

He just stared, his eyes narrowing as he zoned back in and ran at the elevator, trying to pry the doors open. My eyes widened as I attempted to push them the opposite way. It was difficult, since what was left of my left arm was practically spewing blood. I knew I only had a few minutes left before I would die, but something kept me from giving up.
As if someone was looking down on me and giving me the strength to go on, a rush of adrenaline caused me to force the doors shut.

I let out a sigh of relief as I could no longer see him. As soon as I felt the elevator start to go up, I realized the situation I was in.
I began hyperventilating immediately.

Is this how I'm going to die?

Will I make it in time?

Is there even anyone to help me up there?

As soon as I registered what was happening, I felt someone grab my arm. The attached one, that is.

"Hello?" A gentle yet urgent voice said, causing me to almost jump out of my skin.

"Don't worry. I'm here to help."

Despite not knowing anything about this man, I felt as though I could trust him with my life.

He smiled and lead me into a bland room with medical supplies and an operating table.

Right as I sat on it, my vision went black.

"ADRIANNE!"
