JAXX'S POV | 1st person:

When I was a child, my mom used to tell me that a shooting star could grant you a life-changing wish. I'm here to see if that's true.

10 years back:

"Mom! Mom!" I ran up to her, chanting her name cheerfully.

"Yes dear?" She asked. "Is it true shooting stars can make a wish come true?" I asked her enthusiastically. If this was actually true, I promised myself I would try it out when I'm older.

She smiled and me and kneeled down to my height.

"It is true, shooting stars can grant you a life changing wish."

My eyes beamed with joy after hearing that. "Mom! Can I try it when I'm older?" I asked her.

"Of course you can dear! When your older, I'll take you somewhere where the most gorgeous meteor showers happen." She promised me.

Back to the present:

I stood under the black umbrella sheltering me from the cold rain, waiting for a meteor shower to happen. As I waited, I thought about the promise my mother made me.

Well, that promise never happened. My mother died only a year after she made that promise. I assure you, that was the most devastating time of my life.

She couldn't make my promise happen.

I felt tears trickling down my face and wiped them immediately. No time to cry now, I have something better to wait for.

Suddenly something illuminated the sky. Colorful stars were flying across the sky as I made my wish.

I stared for hours, watching as the shower of stars ended slowly but surely. I smiled to myself as the sky dimmed down to darkness.

But my visit wasn't done. I have one more stop. I walked down a dirt pathway, leading to a black gate.

Dark memories hit when I visit this place, but my bravery let me pass. I walked past several graves until I saw a familiar name.

Katelyn Spades

1978-2010

My eyes teared up again as I sat under the umbrella keeping me from getting wet. My childhood isn't the best, but I've learned to go past that.

I sat there for a couple hours at the most, crying at the memories the grave gave me.

Shortly after, my tears dried. I got up and walked back to my house.

I don't know why, but a wave of lightheadedness hit me. I felt like passing out when...

Blank.
