You hadn't been your normal upbeat sassy self and Kirk had noticed. He decided it would probably be better not to question it, and you thanked him for that. You really didn't, no couldn't explain your situation to him, you were to busy worrying. You were doing enough worrying for both yourself and your boyfriend. Bones was the only person on the whole ship who new what was up. You see you had a brain tumor and you were waiting for results. Not knowing if you were going to die or live was scary, and you didn't want to burden Kirk with that he was captain and had enough to worry about. Sitting in your station, which was just a few paces away from Kirk, you tried your best not to look nervous. Suddenly you felt really nauseous, you stood up quickly and rushed to the bathroom. Letting yourself cry as you puke. When your done you clean yourself up and dry your eyes. You were greeted with a worried Kirk when you opened the door to leave. He cupped your face you leant into his touch instantly feeling better," Babe are you alright?", he asked his voice thick with concern. "Im fine I just dont feel well today I think im going to go lay down", you said giving his a loving kiss. He nodded, and you informed Bones where you would be as you made your way to your room. When you layed down you fell asleep almost immediately. About a half an hour later Bones burst through the door shaking you awake. "Its benign!! Its benign!", he practically screamed. You cried tears of joy wrapping your arms around his neck. After of celebrating for a few minutes you had a scary thought. "(Y/N)", Bones says looking into your eyes," we will need to get rid of it and I was hoping we could start today." "Ok.... can I get Kirk", you asks shakily. He nods and tells you he'll meet you down in the medbay. The whole walk to the bridge you hold in the tears that are welling up stinging your eyes. "Kirk", you called your voice cracking as you walked into the bridge. He got up and walked over to you, he looked even more worried. " What's wrong", he asks. "I need you to- I need you to come with me", you said trying to remain calm. "Spock you ok with being in charge for a few minutes", Kirk calls, Spock just nods in return. Kirk rushes you into the hallway,"What's wrong, whats up?", Kirk asks grabbing hold of both of your shoulders. "I need to go into surgery... And I want you with me Bones-", you choke,"Bones will explain when we get there." Your pace us steady but your body is shaking, Kirk grabs hold of your hand and rubs it with his thumb. "Are you sure you can't just tell me what's wrong? You know I love you.", Kirk says stopping the walk to look you in eye. "I know I know I just don't think I-I", you start sobbing again. "Its okay babe I'll talk to Bones come on lets go", he says helping you walk along. After what felt like an eternity you arrived at the medbay. Bones immediately had you preping for surgery. Soon you found yourself sitting on a hospital bed while Bones and Kirk talked in the hall. Kirk rushed in and grabbed your hand, " it's going to be ok alright I won't leave your side, well I won't leave the medbay", you cracked a smile at that. "Besides you will be fine your a tough woman, the woman I love, and you have the best doctor to take care of you", kirk says planting a kiss on your lips. As you layed down breathing in the anesthetic you knew you would be just fine. You had your strong boyfriend waiting for you and the best doctor around looking after you.
