He is startled when the door opens, and a boy with beautiful blue eyes and straight brown hair steps in front of him, who has been enthralled. Harry swallows his spit, feeling stupid, but doesn't look away from the boy in front of him.
"Hey, what do you need?" His voice is the only thing Harry can process. It is so high-pitched and singing. Then he coughs and looks uncomfortable, Harry knows that he can't keep looking at him like that, it's almost disrespectful.
"I'm here for the job. I'm uhmm... The new houseboy." Louis nods, not paying much attention to what he said.
"Ah yes... Wait." His eyes are getting bigger, and it looks like a bucket of cold water has fallen on him as he processes the information. "What? House-boy?" He blinks, looking dazed all of a sudden. Harry nods slowly.
"Yes, exactly." He quickly opens his bag to take out the newspaper with the ad and show it to him. "I was told I had to meet the owner today to talk about the job." The boy has a contagious laugh that makes Harry's insides vibrate. A few wrinkles mark the ends of his eyes, and he is simply adorable in Harry's eyes. But then he stops laughing, turns cold, and gives him the paper back.
"No, not here. You must be in the wrong house. We're looking for maids, not houseboys. Do you understand that, boy? There's a big difference between them." Raise an eyebrow. Harry imitates him, feeling offended.
"Actually there's just a little difference..." Stop talking when hear a scream from inside the house.
"Louis! -What's wrong?" The brown boy turns his back to Harry to answer, leaving the door half open, holding it with his foot.
"It's nothing, Mom!" He shouts, startling him. He turns to look at Harry once more, frowning. "I think someone confused the roles here. Houseboy, are you crazy? What a weird kid."
The brown boy pulls his foot away, and closes the door just when Harry wants to say something. He feels very offended and indignant, that boy is so hateful and rude, despite living in a big mansion and having a lot of money, he lacks manners. What was wrong with him? Who did he think he was to treat him like that?
Harry doesn't dare press the doorbell a second time, and he didn't have to, a refined-looking lady opens the door for him.
She greets him with an inexpressive gesture. Harry clears his throat. She must be the owner of the house, the one who hired him as a houseboy.
"Hello, you must be Mrs. Tomlinson. I'm Harry, um... The boy who spoke to you last night." He reaches out his hand to her with a smile.
"Oh, Harry! Yes, of course. I remember you already." She stretches out Harry's hand with euphoria. "I'm glad you came, darling. Come in."
And Harry thinks that sweet woman can't be the mother of such an odious and impertinent boy like Louis. Yes, he had heard his name when she shouted it. He hadn't paid extreme attention to it or anything, he just heard his name, and happened to remember it. It wasn't important anyway. He hadn't repeated it in his mind a few times. Not at all. He has to learn the name of all his bosses, it's necessary.
"Well, this is my humble home. I live with my husband Mark, and my son Louis, I think you've already had the pleasure of meeting him." She smiles warmly, but Harry shrinks in his place.
"Well, he wasn't very happy to meet me." He says crestfallen, and she tries to ignore his sad expression.
"Forget it, it's just the first impression. He's a tough boy at first. Besides my husband and my son, we also have a little pet, he's a cute poodle, it name is Ross. And the cook of the house, her name is Jimena, she has been working with us for years, approximately since Louis was born, she is his nanny, she is a very kind lady, she will help you a lot." Harry can't control his breathing, he feels very nervous, and thinking that he has to see Louis again, and living with a dog, doesn't help his situation.
