TUL POV
Rumors have been spread to every universities and schools in Thailand.
When a transfer comes, a student dies.
I laughed at this urban legend at first, but then when I was in Junior High School, I had my first transfer. I had to follow my family as my dad's job required us to move from our hometown.
I thought I would be welcomed by the students. First, because I'm kind and generous. Two, because I'm smart. Three, because I'm handsome. Yeah, I'm confident with everything I have. My look especially. Since kindergarten, I always become the prince in every performance. My teachers would always choose me to be the representative of our school, aside from being smart of course. And girls would happily give me their lunchboxes every lunch break. Boys? They don't hate me. As I said, I'm a kind person. I friended all the students, hang out with them without leaving a single soul. I hate to make others feel left out. Imagine yourself, all alone in the corner and not knowing what your friends talk about. Or what they like at the moment. It sucks. The point is, I'm confident I would be loved at my new school.
But no.
The first time I stepped my feet in the teachers' room, I was glared by each of them. When I entered my new Class, the students looked at me in fear, hatred, and despise. No one talked to me that day, not even when I said hi first. The next day was worst, the students who think they are the boss bullied me. Cornered me to the bathroom, threw me rubbish and waters.
Day to day, the bullying worsened. I nearly want to transfer to another school, but there's one kid who approached me the second week after my transfer. His name is Tay Tawan. He's a rapper. Not as an artist but he raps as he speaks. He helps me go through a month of bullying. He's my only friend, a close friend. We have the same interest and hobbies. And now we're inseparable.
When I asked him why he friended me, he said "No one died the third day of you here, and that proved enough you're no killer. Moreover, from the first time u stepped into class. I think we could get along really well. But I don't wanna risk my life so I waited for a week. My gram said to wait for so. Bare with them a little more okay. They'll stop eventually. "
And they did.
The next month was epic. Every single one in my school smiled at me, apologized, and explained why they did what they do to me before. I am loved and admired again as to how I was at my previous school. I was the golden child again. Chosen as the representative along with a friend named Gun.
So much for transfer students right? But yeah, I get through it all.
The rumor kicked in me the most when I was in my Senior High School. It was the second semester. One week to our exam week and a new student came. The next day, he didn't come to school.
The most horrible thing is, one student was found dead in one of the public toilets near our school. A bullet went through her head.
So much for being a senior high school student.
