"So, where's the new guy?" Tay asks Tul the next morning.
It's 7 am and now Tul is trembling like crazy. He called Tay last night because he couldn't bear his fear alone and now Tay is with him to meet the newcomer. The bag and the textbook is on the table, long forgotten even though it's the cause of their meeting. The fact that the new guy said 'before 8 am' without mentioning the actual time makes Tul's fear worsen.
"Ai'Tul!" Tay screams beside Tul's ear as he didn't get any answer.
"Ah, uh. I...I don't know," he stuttered.
Tay sighs, he looks at Tul's pale face. He really is scared right now. Tay do too but Tul is worse. It is as if he doesn't know where he is or who he is. "Hey, I'm here. Nothing's gonna happen to you okay," Tay speaks even if he is not sure.
Tul looks at Tay, tears nearly fall from his eyes.
Fuck, Tay thinks. "Don't give me that face, bastard."
Tul maybe has a big buff body, he could fight ten men alone, but his heart is as soft as cotton. Since the day he friended Tul, Tay immediately knows Tul is the kind of person who keeps their real feelings to his own. Showing the world that they are okay, confidence, and has no problems. However, the truth is Tul has insecurities too. Too much even that it makes him underestimate himself and always try harder to make himself presentable or accepted by the society. And yes, people loves him even respects him. But there's a few who wants to stay as a close friend. They see Tul as a perfectionist. They're scared of Tul, scared if they did something not in Tul's standard, they'll be embarrassed. Not to mention Tul always nags if that happens, not that he will hate them tho. He just wants the to do good. If they do good, the results would also good. Right?
"What are you guys doing here?" suddenly a girl's voice interrupts Tay's thought. Both of them look up from their table and saw Neen, a Fine Art department student.
Neen Suwanamas is a sweet looking girl. Smile never left her face wherever she goes and she has a puppy eyes. She has this innocent aura around her, but boi, she's the total opposite. She's as wild as a lion, a badass. The kind of girl who gives off a boyfriend vibe when you stand beside her. Tay has a long history with her as New told him that he liked Neen in his first year. But past is past, New is his now.
"We're enjoying our free time, of course," but yeah, jealousy still has him.
Neen chuckles, "no need to be so cold, Tay. I'm not gonna snatch your boyfriend. I don't even like him in the first place."
Tay growls in annoyance.
Neen shakes her head unamused then looks at Tul, she frowns seeing Tul's pale face. "What's with you too?"
However, Tul doesn't answer her. He looks down to his lap so Tay answers for him instead. "Nothing. He just forgot to do his homework and now the lecture wont give him additional time to do it,"
Neen gasps, "Tul na? I didn't know he could forget his homework," she said surprised. Tul never forgot his homework, EVER. Everybody knows this.
"Err na, don't ask further or he will cry. I don't know how to make people stop crying."
Neen nods and sits just beside Tul.
Tay frowns, "Why are you sitting at our table?"
Neen gives him an unamused expression, again. "can't you see the cafe is full?" She asks rhetorically. "I don't wanna sit with a stranger. Haven't you heard stranger danger?" she continues.
Tay just rolls his eyes. He scoffs, there's no way a wild girl would follow stranger danger rule. She must be planning on something. Tay didn't ask further as the cafe bell chimes, followed by an unfamiliar man's voice screaming "Phi Tul!"
