Jade
When I got back to class, Government lesson had already begun. The teacher had to make me apologise to the whole class before going to my seat. I went to my seat and sat there, stuffing Tammy's blazer into my bag. Tears had gathered in my eyes.
"Hey, are you ok?" Marie asked me. The teacher was already putting down the note on the board.
"You let them do that to me Marie," I said to her.
"Do what to you? Jade? What happened? Tell me." She raised my jaw to hers. "Are you ok? Why are your crying? Who did this to you?""You knew Tammy was going to bully me and you let me go there," I explained.
"No no, Jade. I didn't I swear. Anne said she wanted to apologise to you about what happened at the gallery last term and she wanted to apologise to you there so she asked me to invite you privately so she could talk to you and sort things out. She said she wanted the three of us to be friends the way we used to be," she explained.
I wiped my tears off.
"So she actually worked with Tammy? That girl is going to be a dead meat in the hostel. I'll deal with her. I'm sorry, I won't let this happen to you ever again Jade. I'm so sorry.""It's okay. It's fine. But I need to buy him a new can of water, he asked me to and he wants me to give it to him exactly at 3:15."
"Don't worry. You can give it to me and I'll give it to him during extra lesson."
"Really?"
"Yes."I swear that I did not want to face him again.
"Thanks."🎀🎀
Home was my comfort zone that day. I was not comfortable at school and Vanessa had gone to a private university, so I literally had all the peace and quiet in the house to myself. I dumped my clothes in the hamper. The maids were going to take care of that.
Mum walked into the kitchen, where I was, with a few other maids. I was there, looking for something to have for lunch.
"How was school today baby?" Mum asked.
I sighed. "The usual." I opened the fridge and took out a Chi exotic, and a glass cup from the cabinet.
"Vanessa's matriculation is few months away, you interested in going?"
"No," I said plainly. I wondered why mum stressed herself over that disrespectful loser.
"Come on Jade, she's your sister. Half sister," she told me.
I poured the juice into the glass cup, without saying a word to her.
"I'd give you time to think about it. You have about three months," she smiled and walked into the kitchen to give some instructions to the maids. I was sure mum did not want to argue with me in front of all these people and that was why she decided to let me think through it first. Typical mum would not even ask for my opinion but push me to be outgoing. On my way out of the kitchen, the maid responsible for laundering stopped me.
"There were two blazers," she told me.
"Simply wash them," I told her and made my way to the stairs.

JeremihEudora and Chantelle were preparing to go back to the boarding house. Holidays were over, even though dad let them spend an extra day at home. It was Monday afternoon, time for school closure. Mum made me and Michael follow her to Grand Army to drop the two girls.
