I was sat on the bus on my way to my first day of my internship. I was reading my favourite book 'the outsiders' by S.E Hinton. I've also watched the movie a few times but we don't have a disc so I can't watch it anymore. Mam doesn't like me using technology. I'm not sure why. Anyway, I got a really big opportunity last week. I was allowed to do my internship for school in this huge insurance company. It sounds boring to normal people but for a girl like me it's huge.

The bus is stopping. And here goes nothing. I grabbed my things and now I'm walking into a 50 store building with loads of huge windows on the exterior. I walk into the reception and it's all fancy, expensive and immaculately clean. Way to make me feel small and worthless thanks. I walk up to the receptionist and ask where I go for an internship. As I'm about to finish my sentence I was interrupted by someone ringing the phone at the reception. The lady just shushed me and answered the phone. 30 seconds into a conversation she raises a eye brow at me as if asking why I was still standing there and I take it as a signal to sit down and leave her be to have her phone call.

After 10 minuets she's done and asks me to come back up to reception. I walk up and she asks what I'm doing here. I repeat that I'm here for work experience. She looked like she was expecting me and pointed to the elevator and she said go to the 24th floor, take a right and follow that hallway to the end and go into the office on the left. She said make sure not to go into the one on the right and only the left but I'm not sure if that is what it was because I already left exited to get to work.

I got into the lift and thankfully I was alone I'm quite claustrophobic so I hate small spaces with loads of people make it worse as I have social anxiety as well. I get to 24th floor and take a right. I go down the hall and I kept trying to remember which office not to go into. I hope I'm supposed to go into the right one because I decided on that one.

I found the offices and knocked on the door to the right one. A deep voice said come in and I walked in. His face seemed confused as to why I was here but non the less welcomed me to sit down on one of the two leather seats on the opposite side of his desk. I nervously sat on the chair closest to me. He started of by asking who I was. "I'm an intern, I asked the receptionist where t-to go. S-she said either this office or the other one but I can't remember which one. I'm s-sorr-.." I started to ramble getting nervous thinking it was the other office that I was supposed to be in, but I was interrupted by the man saying "It's okay, no it wasn't this office but your here now so I'll help you." He said while sighing a little not very obvious though.

The man showed me around the building but told me to never go to the 40th floor or above. I went to ask what it was but he just cut me off by saying we were going to continue. I never did get his name, neither did he get mine. I guess he'll ask me later if he'll need to know my name in the future. My best guess is he is the boss so that would make him Mr. Romero, the biggest and richest insurance and business man in America.

After 5 hours we were finally finished our tour. It was perfect timing as it was just lunch. Mr. Romero said goodbye and good luck with the job as he left. I'm guessing he is going back to his office. I left the building and went for a walk. Mom didn't give me money this morning for lunch and I don't have a job to pay for anything yet so I just left and decided to disappear from the building for awhile during lunch and I'll re-appear after lunch.

*about forty-five minutes later*

I'm back from my walk earlier than expected, so I decided I should grab a seat somewhere and that I could read some of The Outsiders for the rest of lunch.

After lunch I went to the cubicle that I was given for the time I will be here. It looked like this:

It was a huge room and there are loads of these groups of desks precisely placed around the room

It was a huge room and there are loads of these groups of desks precisely placed around the room. All the desks are kept immaculately clean which is very aesthetically pleasing. There are four white printers that are also photo copiers along one of the walls. There dark oak floor boards, 3 light grey walls and one dark grey wall.
