Part 25 : Yes?

Haoting twirls the ring box in his jacket while waiting for Shigu at the cafeteria. 

He sips the second cup of hot tea. The slight bitter taste eases his pounding heart but his glasses got foggy from the beverage. 

Shigu walks as fast as he could towards the cafeteria when he saw the message. He almost stumbles on the stairs. He did not expect Haoting to pick him up tonight.

Haoting smirked at the clumsiness.

He stands when Shigu clings into his embrace. 

'Ah Hao, I miss you a lot.'

'I miss you even more, Love'. Haoting replied, inhaling the scent from the crook of Shigu's neck . SHigu giggles and tries to break away from the hug, Haoting is tickling him with his rough 5 o'clock shadow. 

Nearby, Mei Fang started taking the photos. This is not part of the countdown nor the agreement, but who cares. Her assistant giggles. Fan-girl energy has the power to move the world. 

Haoting pecks Shigu a greeting kiss. He can hear the sounds of protest from Shigu's colleagues - those lonely souls trapped on this mountains. They surely did not hide their contempt. 

He slid a dinner he packed from home. Hot chicken broth and steamed rice with some stir fried veges. Some of Shigu's colleagues look over with envy, shoving their faces with the suddenly bland cafeteria noodles and hot tea.   

The girls propped their chins and enjoy the view.

'I have more snacks. Let's head to the observatory platform. ' Haoting said after they are done with dinner. 

Shigu nods. 

Haoting really likes the observatory platform for this past few months. So he said nothing and happily cling like a koala. They walk like a single body, giggling and hugging. 

Shigu's male colleague started cursing Haoting with the sweet sight. It burned their eyes.  

Haoting checks the parking lot and smiles to himself when he sees Mei Fang out of sight. The preparation should be done. He grips the ring box with one hand while the other hand hug Shigu tightly.

9PM. 

The skies are clear. Full moon and no clouds in sight. 

Shigu stopped in his track when they arrived at the platform. Fairy lights and a picnic mat with some food prepared. 

Haoting looks at him tenderly. Pulling him to sat down on the mat. 

'Ah Hao...when ...' he trailed his words and looks at the camping style picnic around him. He is confused. Haoting is with him for the past few hours. When did he prepared all this? Who helped him? He tries to swept the surrounding with his eyes, but he stopped when he saw Haoting staring right at him. He felt self-conscious all of a sudden and heat rapidly rising to his neck. He's shy. 

Haoting poured the hot chocolate into the mug and gave it to Shigu. 

'Happy 7th anniversary, Yu Shi Gu'. He chinks their mug together. He sips his drinks but his eyes did not left Shigu. 

Shigu nods shyly and blinks rapidly. He did not expect Haoting to prepare another celebration after their celebration at the restaurant. He sips the drinks slowly, trying to hide his face. 

'Are you still shy on me? Really? After all this years?' Haoting teased and brings himself closer. 

Shigu pushed him lightly, trying to make a distance. Haoting's smell is overpowering him. He is shy but he really likes it when there's only two of them. 

He pecks Haoting as fast as he could. Then he continues sipping his choco, eyes down. 

Haoting is content with the sudden moves. He licks his lips.

He returns the kiss, deepening it for a while and playfully trying to chomp Shigu's lips. Then he laid on his back. He looks at the vast sky. 

' I'm thankful for the universe for putting us together. There's so many variables but yet we ended up in the epoch of time, the same timeline, year, country, school...' Haoting rambles. He put his hands inside his jackets.  ' I'm thankful that you did not pushed me away 7 years ago. It makes me realised my own potential and how I can be better with you by my side. And I love you more and more everyday.' 

Shigu listens to the sudden outburst but he did not interrupt. 

They remained silent for a while. Watching the stars with their naked eyes.

Haoting  focus his attention to Shigu and took the mug away. He caress his hands and kissed them tenderly. ' I really really love you, you know that don't you? Your parents would definitely approve us, don't you think?', he asked. 

Shigu nods again. Somehow he finds it difficult to talk today. Haoting is giving a different vibes than usual. 

Suddenly Haoting gets to his knees. 

Shigu is startled but followed suit , mirroring his partner's action. Ok, Haoting is definitely weird tonight. They are facing each other, both on their knees. 

Haoting took something from his jacket and propped it open between them. 

'Yu Shi Gu, my love, will you marry me?' 

The world goes absolutely silent for them. 

Shigu looks at the ring and Haoting. He nods again, tears in his eyes. 

'Yes!'

Haoting smiles triumphantly. 

Nearby, Mei Fang continues her job with tears of happiness streaming down her face. Yu baby is happy, so she is happy.  

A/N: Author is happy too. Let me go cry in the corner for a bit.

Haoting spent the night at the dorm. His heart is full. 

Shigu fell asleep in his embrace on the tiny bed. 

When Haoting saw  a notification in his inbox, a photo from Mei Fang, he forwarded it to his family group-chat and the Freedom Gang group-chat. 

" My Shigu said YES! :) ''

Both group-chats roared alive with congratulations.
