Nothing to say here except enjoy the story ^-^
As the holy light sorcerers charged off into the distance, the sun began to rise after all the chaos, as if it was hinting that there was still hope, and light. There was just one small problem. In fact, it was quite a large one indeed.
"Where are we going?" Himari questioned, suddenly stopping and gazing in thought. The two boys who turned around seemed to have a look of confusion.
"We though you knew that!" Asahi spoke.
"Yeah, after charging off into the distance, do we even have ANY idea where we are going? We could be going in the opposite direction!" Homare had replied, anxiously.
"Oh." Himari paused to think, but she had no clue to their current whereabouts, due to the rubble and the sudden disappearance of their friend, Mizuki. It was hard to tell, from all the rubble, everything looked the same. The bodies, both limp and twitching scattered throughout the lands and the chunks of brick and stone thrown everywhere like some sort of forgotten puzzle. They did shiver at the sight of this, and feel a sudden pain in their chests, however, it was normal for them to see the lives of people come and go like a flickering candle. It did sully their high hopes just a bit, but they pushed themselves to not become emotionally overwhelmed by the constant deaths of all those innocent people. Time and time again, they'd hear screams and cries and pleas, and sudden thuds to the ground. It was then that Himari had an idea.
"Why don't we follow the screams and find out if our friend has something to do with this?" Himari said, monotonously and drearily. Of course, she was used to hearing the screams of the battlefield, but not entirely. It broke away at their sanity, bit by bit every time it happened. Soon there would be nothing left of their sanity but a remnant of a puzzle.
They headed presumably in what was made out to be eastward, towards the screams and yells they were hearing. Their cheering mood had suddenly changed to a dark and grim one, seemingly they had become completely different people to the ones they were moments ago. The reason they had finally been waiting for had come. Their mission was to save their friend, and finally they would have been proven useful towards all the lives that had been taken.
It took a while, but they had arrived to where the screaming had been the loudest. Eventually, their eyes had scanned the surroundings like a hawk, and they spotted their tainted friend. Homare looked like he had something important to say, and the others listened closely.
"Asahi, just remember: the Mizuki you see before you isn't your sister, so don't be afraid to hold your own against the shadows controlling her. We're here for support - remember that we're here to help! We're also your nakama!"
"Yeah, what he said, Asahi. Your sis wouldn't be happy to see you like this, wouldn't she?" Himari let out a gentle laugh, punching him feebly on the shoulder. Asahi in return had shown a hint of a smile under his shadowed eyes. His feelings had betrayed him, but at least it made his friends, or nakama, comfortable knowing they could trust him through thick and thin, even if it meant holding his own against his 'sister'.
"You two distract the shadows, I'll find a way to get us in." Himari had muttered, and they both could tell she was formulating a plan, but Asahi was confused.
"Get us in where?"
"Never mind, just g-"
"-look out!" Homare yelled, pushing the two out of the way of an incoming boulder.
Before we get too far, let's just explain what exactly holy light sorcerers could do. Well, not specifically, as it wasn't that simple, to be honest. Holy light sorcerers were not always extremely rare, until the deaths of the friends' parents. As you may already know, holy light sorcerers were each born with abilities to vanquish shadow creatures, (creatures of the underworld) but these abilities all followed their own rules and came in many different forms. Some had abilities to cast spells and curses. Others were able to harness the power of the elements. And in rare cases, the power of both the sun god, Amaterasu and powers of the violent moon god, Tsukuyomi. These aren't the only types of holy light sorcerers, if I were to list them all, it'd probably take several decades before I did. Combat and how to control their unique powers were all taught at an early age, the earliest being the moment the child turned 9, they would know how to use their abilities to some extent.
Holding their own against the shadows would mean using all of their strength, and Asahi, Himari and Homare were ready to do whatever it took. As long as the sacrifice Mizuki made was not for nothing.
As I, the narrator, has said before, each holy-light sorcerer had their own abilities and powers. Nobody had the exact same power: each and every one suiting their own unique personalities and preferences.
Homare's ability was the one to control Earth, and to give life to it, so long as he didn't use his powers for malicious and unjust reasons, the Earth he controlled would always be peaceful, but with a powerful and courageous edge to it.
Himari's was the power to control water - her strong, calm and freely flowing nature, which shaped her power and her mood could be sensed by the temperature of the water, a benefit when it came to battle.
And Asahi's was the power to control the holy fire, which was one that all evil would cower to, when it was powerful enough. The only problem with his power was that it would never work during rain: a severe problem which could eventually put him at a disadvantage.
If their feeling and resolves were weak, then their powers would be too. Their powers represented their entire existence, and if it were to be taken away, their meaning would be too. Brawn wasn't the only way to win a battle, it was the heart and the resilience that mattered. Without it, even trying to fight would've been pointless.
"It's impossible to save everyone, otherwise you'll risk losing them all." ~ Asahi Katsumoto
