Spiders Detest Homare - 25

This is the second time I ever felt sympathy for a character in this story [liar this is the millionth time] 'cause, well, spiders hate me too. Don't worry, I'd never put a picture of a spider here as that would scare the heck outta me just looking for one.

After countless tries of heaving, sighing, pushing and wheezing, [whoah that's a lot of words] Homare finally gave up on trying to make the boulders of brick and rubble move. It was far too heavy and wouldn't budge an inch or crack that he could use to escape. Homare then told himself that it wouldn't help, as everyone else would have gone off in separate directions. He remembered the agreement they'd made ever since they came inside the place.

"Don't forget: if one of us gets lost we cannot turn back. It's gonna get us all killed if we do. We don't have a clue where we are either so going forward is the only option." Asahi pointed out.

"Wow! That's the first time you've been smart! Congrats!" Himari exclaimed sarcastically, receiving a very, very furious frown from him. Homare had somehow cheered them up from their rigid state and they all high-fived in agreement to what Asahi had reckoned. That's if you could call it a high five...

"Ouch! That's my face Asahi! Get off! Baka!" Himari screeched, shoving Asahi to the ground. Asahi did nothing but laugh at her and Homare did nothing but facepalm mentally at this. Himari in his memory did nothing but kick Asahi straight out into the nearest wall. It was a terribly vivid and realistic memory remembering Himari do something like that.

Homare scanned the horizon, looking for a suitable way to cross and break free from the rubble trapping him like a fly in a container. He swept swiftly, and saw there was a gap to the left of him. Struggling, he pushed the rocks forward and quickly withdrew his hand in disgust.

"Ugh. Why do these spiders always seem to target me?" He groaned to himself, picking up the spider by its legs and throwing it across the dark area, without any sign of fear and heard the spider scuttle away. He imagined what Himari and Asahi would say.

"Ha! It's because you and the spiders are best friends! Spiders love to crawl on you because you're the earth!" Homare could practically hear them laugh and told his sub-conscience to shut up and give him a break for a while.

"Yeesh, another. How many are there of these stupid pe-"

Homare paused, feeling a sharp pain on his hand, seeing that another spider had tried to do the same, but this time succeeded in biting him.

"Hope that wasn't poisonous." He nonchalantly responded to the situation, unlike how many others would react. It really did annoy him the way spiders would always crawl up his skin and try to bite... quite a hassle really. His idea of dealing with spiders (no, it wasn't screaming and running away) was to pick them up and flick them, as if they were clutter he was picking up.

"That's probably all of them." He sighed to himself and starting, once again, removing the rocks in the way, nearly tripping over when the rubble collapsed onto the other side. One thing that was definitely special about this light wielder was that he was never bothered by large, scary creatures, which normally everyone else would panic at. Probably just an aspect of wielding the power of the earth. If I was him, I'd walk up to him and congratulate him. [Shall we break the fourth wall?]

He continued walking in a casual manner, looking around for a place they had recently crossed. There wasn't much, unless you count: the rock that looked like a face, Asahi and Himari's outlines on the wall (not just their chicken-scratch writing, but their recent brawls), weird ooze from the chimaera and the once piranha-filled waters. He didn't have any clue what to do so he came to the first logical conclusion. And it was simply to move towards the path with less rubble.

"Is it just me or are these spiders getting bigger and uglier in size - wait, I'm talking to myself! Creepy!" Following the larger spiders should take him to their nest or something similar, and would give him possibly a better understanding of his location. Maybe.

This time, he tried to be a lot less clumsy and not let the spiders touch him, because there was no doubt that they were poisonous, judging from the two red markings on their shiny black bodies. All in all, it reminded him of a beetle - or polished leather. He had no idea how he came up with that. It was a close call when the enlarging spiders came as near as a centimetre to him, and he brought a foot and stamped it hard over the spider, squishing its belongings outside. It was necessary, but made him gag just breathing in the smell accidentally.

"Damn. I hope I don't have to do that again. It's disgusting but it's either me or the spider." He retched, trying not to heave his own contents. Briskly, he walked past the remains as fast as he could to avoid doing something so disturbing - it was already enough due to the situation they were in, he didn't need more of a hassle having thousands, or millions of spiders burying him alive and devouring him.

Silky webs coated the ceilings, floor and even the rubble. There were spiders looking hungrily at him with all their ruby-red eight eyes, just thinking about their walking meal. There were so many spiderwebs that some overlapped each other, streaming across the widening walls like streamers, halloween-style.

Homare could feel the piercing gazes go through him and tried not to go ballistic at the sheer feeling of it. He shivered.

For the first time, he was finally not looking forward to going up with the mother of all those poisonous monsters. He wondered just how colossal it would be, having a hard time trying to block the thought out of his mind.

The sight of the creature was going to have burned a permanent spot in his memories, which, to his misfortune, he wouldn't be able to prevent.

His brisk walk begun to slow down as he carefully eyed the monsters crawling and dangling their webs everywhere. You weren't able to see the walls because of how many silk webs coated the place. Yet again, trying to hold back a fearful yell, he brushed a large section of spiderwebs away, revealing the nest.

This part TERRIFIED ME and even more when we go to the nest. I just can't take spiders and am reminded of Zelda's Armogohma. I just hate the monster and I know it wasn't creepy to most people but I wanted to cry as an eight year old when I saw it.

I need to include more stuff that fills in the gaps so far... but so far, I only have one 2000 word chapter.
