The beach air smelt of seawater and sunscreen with a hint of that beach bag wicker, and the sound of children screaming reminded me of normalcy. Since it brought back memories of work because I volunteer to read children at the library in my free time. While the waves crashing gave me a sense of peace, it was cut short with the sound of the seagulls squawking. I looked around to see one trying to grab a guy's sandwich, causing me to laugh. I took another glance around seeing sandcastles, seashells, beach balls, umbrellas, and much more. People scattered around doing different activities with their friends and family. My toes dug into the warm sand with my eyes closed, relaxing me once again.

"Nessa come on!" my friend Ava shouted. I open my eyes to see her in the water causing me to run over to her laughing, making sure not to hit anyone or break any sandcastles.

As soon as I got in, she splashed me, causing us to go into a loud splash fight like we were children all over again. We stopped once we both broke into a fit of laughter. As soon as I did, I tasted the disgusting taste of seawater, causing me to cough, making my friend laugh.

"Oh, so funny you wanna try some?" I say before splashing her, which made her taste the saltwater. It caused me to start smirking at my revenge.

We splashed back and forth for a while before going back to the area where all our beach stuff was. I grabbed my towel, wrapping it around, and so did Ava before we both sat next to each other on the warm sand, drying ourselves off.

After fifteen minutes, we were finally dry, so we placed our towels laying on them. We didn't worry about the sun, since we sunscreen on before. We just laid down, backside up, talking about life, catching up. Ava fell asleep, laying down, leaving me to get up and sit on my towel, staring at the beautiful blue ocean.

"Hellow," I heard a baby voice say, causing me to turn my head towards the sound. Once I did, I saw a baby who looked about three years old, staring at me.

"Hi sweetie," I responded, smiling at her. When she saw me smiling, she smiled back.

"Your weh-wee pwetry," she speaks, mispronouncing some of her words made me smile.

"You're pretty too. You're a gorgeous little girl," I say back to her causing her to tilt her head and smile at me.

"Weally you think I pretty, " she speaks again with a smile on her face tilting her head and holding her hand together. I nod my head, causing her to smile more causing me to smile at how cute she was.

"What's your name?" I ask realizing I never picked up on the adorable baby's name in front of me. Honestly, I didn't know anything about the child in front of me I still had no idea where her parents are.

"Cassie, and I am this many years old, " she says holding up three fingers indicating she was three. She really was adorable and smart for her age.

"Well, I am Nessa, and this many years old," I say putting up 10 fingers then pitting up 8 for her to understand. She just smiles when she sees me imitating her obviously likening it.

"Because we are friends, Do you can answer a question for me," I ask since I really needed to get her to her parents before they get too worried. Once I say she nods her head smiling ready for the question.

"Who did you come here with?" I question the baby as her face breaks into a smile.

"With dada and Aunties and Uncles," she replies smiling at me. She was a really cute little girl with gorgeous blue eyes and luscious blonde hair.

"Okay, then you think you can show me where they are? I would love to meet them," I say, trying to get here to bring me to them. I watch as she nods, before taking off as I follow her. It wasn't too hard, since she had short baby legs so she wasn't going that fast.

We eventually stopped in front of a couple of guys who arguing. The girls seem to be rolling their eyes at them.

"Hey," I said making them all turn around to look at me. Maybe saying Hey wasn't the best way to get their attention since they all seemed a bit pissed at each other.

"Dada," Cassie says as the last guy turned around wrapping her arms around his longs since she was short and he was tall. He looked around my age with blue eyes and fluffy brown hair. He was really cute definitely my type.

"Cassie, I was worried sick about you. How many times have I told you not to run off like that? Things like that scare me and your uncles and aunts," he lectures her as he picks her up pecking her cheek.

"Sowwy dada. My new fwiend Nessa ought me back," she says pointing at me as I awkwardly wave. After seeing me the guy immediately walks over wanting to talk.

"Thank you so much. How could I ever repay you?" the guy thanks me walking over.

"No need to. I am just happy Cassie over here found you guys," I say declining his offer to repay me.

"Josh by the way. My name is Josh," he says introducing himself putting out his hand to shake. "I'm Nessa," I respond shaking his hand both of us just staring into each other eyes. He had beautiful bright blue eyes like Cassie you could just get lost in.

"Well it nice to meet you Josh but I better get back to my friend," I say breaking eye contact as he just nodded still holding on to Cassie.

"Yeah you should hopefully I will see you around," he says smiling at me as I smile back.

"Yeah, I hope to see you around too. Bye, Cassie see you around," I said with a smile waving goodbye to her as she did a cute little baby wave back.
