Eventually Tanjiro manages to find his way back to you and he doesn't seem all too impressed to see you wrestling Inosuke's head into the dirt. Inosuke grunts when you twist his boar mask's ear. "So, did you defeat it?"
Tanjiro sweat drops, his eyes scanning over the tan boys arms, stomach and then to your arm locked around his neck in a chokehold. "Are you alright, Inosuke?" His tone is worried, rightfully so. You so on the other hand are more upset that Inosuke isn't reacting to you trying to body slam him.
Inosuke snorts, not caring at all as you continue to be a pest. "I asked whether you defeated that thing or not!" Tanjiro peels you off of the boy, you glare and huff.
"Uh, yeah, I did! But anyway, Inosuke, how are you feeling?"
Inosuke points his finger at Tanjiro, offended. "Don't go showering me with your sensitivity and kindness! You hear me? Got that? After all, anything you can do, I can do! Before you know it, my head will be harder than yours! Not to mention.." You tilt your head as he trails off. "Not to mention... Um.."
Tanjiro sneakily begins to wrap Inosuke's wounds with a bandage. You stand to the side with your arms crossed, still upset you weren't able to smother Inosuke. Eventually Inosuke snaps out of his zoned out state with a yell. You watch amused as Tanjiro struggles to keep the boar headed boy still. "Stay still, Inosuke!" He curses as Inosuke swats at him. "(Y/N) keep him still!"
You grin as you crack your knuckles. "Careful what you wish for." Inosuke wriggles as you place him in a headlock. Tanjiro doesn't seem to fond of the evil smirk on your lips.
"Cut that out! I don't need that! I'm totally fine!"
Some time later Tanjiro gives up on the stubborn boy and settles for instead just wiping the dried blood away. He glances at you, unimpressed as you pick at your nails. "When I said keep him still, I didn't mean give him more bruises.." You huff, nose stuck in the air as you strut along the river's bank.
"You should have been more specific then!" Electricity crackles through the air and you freeze, eyes wide as goosebumps raise and a flash of white light dances across the sky. "Did lightning just strike?" Inosuke rolls his eyes next to you.
"How should I know?"
"Don't be a smartass-"
Tanjiro interjects before you can cause a scene. "I'm not smelling any thunderclouds. The acrid odor in the air is stronger now, so I can't tell." Inosuke stops next to the river and tries to hop onto a stone, you fail to hide your smug expression as he nearly topples over. "Inosuke! I think we'll go that way." Tanjiro points to his left.
"Go ahead and do whatever you want!"
Tanjiro tilts his head as Inosuke barely manages to balance on the stone. "Are you descending, Inosuke?"
Inosuke freezes. "Huh?"
You snort "He's asking if you're going down the mountain." You fiddle with your necklace, eyes watching the other side of the river.
"Why would I? Just beat it!"
"No no, because you're severely wounded." Tanjiro points to the wounds on Inosuke's arms and stomach.
Inosuke, as always, protests. "I am not wounded at all!"
Tanjiro begins to sweat, nervous as Inosuke nearly topples off of the rock. "N-N-No Inosuke! Your injuries.. Anyone can see that.."
As expected, Rui's sister creeps through the trees and both the boys freeze as her feet patter against the grass. You slip your blade out of it's sheathe and turn your attention away from her. She wasn't your main worry. You flinch as Inosuke yells "I'm gonna tear you to shreds, you damn demon!" Rui's sister runs into the trees, Inosuke tries jumping the small path of stones. "Come back here!"
