It's been a few weeks since Cash came into the hospital. There have been a few overnight shifts and during them it's been Robert and I. Cash is healing nicely and is gaining weight. I sneak in on my break and spend it with him most days and say goodbye to him before I go home for the day. I was doing the rounds getting ready for my overnight shift when I run into Robert and Terri. Both of them with a big smile on their face.
"Hello Miss Alice!" Robert says giving me a hug I wrap my arms around him as he lifts me up and spins me. His mom gives me a hug too and says the most exciting thing ever....
"How would you like to go on our croc trip with us?"
"AHHHH OF COURSE!"

During our shift, Robert and I talk about the trip.
"Basically, you'll meet with us early in the morning and we'll drive over to the reservation. There, you'll help with jumping and science and just have the best time!" Robert says as I snuggle into his chest. I don't know what to call us. He's my best friend but also a guy I like. It's confusing. Anyways, we decided that tomorrow we're gonna put Cash in with the others and see how he does.

5 am. That's what time it is as Robert and I walk to the wombat in closure to put Cash in. We climb over the wall and place him down and almost immediately he is loved. I become so happy I jump into Robert's arms and cry a little. We look at each other and giggle. Robert moves closer to my face and I don't know how to think. Before I knew it, I grab his face and kiss him. He wraps his arm around my waist and we stay there for a few minutes. When we pull away, we hear a noise that startles us both...
"Morning love birds!" From Chandler.
