POV Momo

A few hours of sailing later

I was in my office with a compass and a map, in about 30 minutes we should arrive at the kingdom. If we stop about 15 minutes away from the kingdom I could start swimming, if I acted like I was drowning it would work I planned in my head. But then how would I get in the kingdom? Would they leave me there? What if no one saw me? This plan wasn't making much sense to me anymore. It was a lot more dangerous than I thought. Bad thoughts swarmed in my head and then-

"Is everything okay caption? Ribbit" Tsu walked in.

I jumped a little. She was carrying a trey of food.

"I made this for you, you've been in here a long time Kero"

"Thank you, and everything is going well! I'm just a little paranoid" I responded.

"I can breath underwater for awhile, maybe I could help you Ribbit"

"That's helpful.." I wondered out loud "that would be great, thanks"

"No problem captain Ribbit" she put down the trey and walked out of the room.

15 minutes later

I walked out of my office to see the kids running around, Izuku swabbing the deck and Ochako helping.

"Everyone! We should stop here!" I yelled.

Tenya ran over to the anchor and put it into the ocean. Shouto was in the sails and he lifted them. Tsu came out holding one of the potions.

"Ready? Ribbit" Tsu asked.

"Ready as I'll ever be" I said.

Tsu handed me the potion. "Let me know if you need me in there with you"

"I will, don't worry" I assured her.

I took off the cap and drank the potion, suddenly gills sprouted out of my neck. I ran over to the edge of the ship and dived into the water gracefully. I swam to the surface to look up at everyone.

"Put a big fishing net in the water" I called.

Down came a big fishing net. I took out my pocket knife and cut some of it up. Then I put it around my limbs. I waved to them and swam away.

At first I swam the way the map showed me, then I saw something moving in the distance.
A mermaid? No..it has something weird on it's back...unless..

I swam closer. It was definitely not a shark.
It is a mermaid..

I had to act so I swam really fast straight towards them, screaming

"Help! Help! Those damn humans tried killing me!"

It was a female with short purple hair and a dark purple tail. She flinched.

"Who are you and what are you doing here!?" She pulled out a sharp shell.

"Listen to me! I'm not a human! See! I have gills" I pointed out. "Those humans just tried to kill me!"

"Then what do you want me to do?" She asked.

"Can you at least take me to your kingdom?" I asked.

"No! They don't accept outcasts, we're made up of sirens and mermaids only" she said.

Sirens? What is that.

"What is a siren..?"

"Are you stupid!? You're looking at one!" She yelled. "And plus! I'm running away from that stupid kingdom"

"I was isolated from everyone for a long time, can you please tell me what a siren is"

"Sure whatever..." she sighed. "A siren is basically a mermaid that kills humans and other creatures with their voice"

"Oh..so mermaids don't do that?"

"No" she replied harshly.

"Well, what's your name?" I asked. "I'm Momo"

"I'm 'princess' Kyoka" she muttered.

"Wait..if you're a princess why are you swimming away?"

"Because I hate people, I hate my parents, and I hate being a princess" she kept mumbling. "I want to be free"

"Oh..well can you still take me there and then run away later?" I asked, trying to be polite.

Kyoka sighed and then nodded. "Merfolk like you have never been spotted by my kingdom's merfolk, do you need a tail?" She asked.

"Yeah, that'd be smart." I chuckled.

Kyoka started swimming around me, her majestic tail waving back in forth. She started to sing, it was mesmerizing and sweet. My legs started to glow and they soon turned into a beautiful crimson tail. She stopped singing and swam back in front of me.

"Do you need to be taught how to swim with a tail?" She asked, sort of annoyed.

"No, I think I'm good." I started to swim around, getting the hang of a tail. "Thanks for this."

"No problem." It was clear she was still annoyed but she swam off anyway.

I quickly followed her.
