chapter 6

Katherines POV
We all decided to head to lunch, although we had no idea where Lucille or Draco was but we just came to the conclusion to leave it alone.

"So what'd you guys do in Snapes class?" Lorenzo asked

"Fucking Amortentia" I responded

"Again? So who'd you guys smell then?" He replied

"I smelled Blaise" Onyx said gazing off at him fluttering her eyelashes.

"I smelt Onyx of course" Blaise added

"So what did you smell Katherine?" He asked me

My cheeks instantly went warm.

"Oh nothing" I shrugged trying to act less flustered, refusing to make eye contact.

"Oh cmon you have to had smelled someone" he said

My eyes wandered around the great hall and wanting to reply so I said the first person who came to mind.

"Hmm well personally and don't tell anyone, I smelled Chase Turner" I replied, I knew very well I didn't smell him but I sort of wanted to see if Enzo would care.. possibly get jealous?

His jaw clenched.

"That gryffindor? You have to be joking Katherine" He replied in a very not so happy voice adding a chuckle to hide it?

"Amortentia doesn't lie Enzo" I replied wondering how far I could get with this.

"Oh and look there he is right now!" I said as he walked in.

What a great coincidence.

"I'm going to talk to him" I said in a confident tone.

Lorenzo sat there jaw clenched biting the side of his cheek.

"Hey chase" I say joyfully with a smirk plastered on my face.

What am I doing?
I'm stupid
I should go back
Why am I doing this?

"Oh hello there Katherine" he smiled warmly

"I haven't talked to you in forever! I just thought I'd check up on you. How have you been?" I said

"I've been great, I actually have something to ask you  and I've been meaning to. Would you like to go out with me?" He said scratching the back of his neck.

I stood there wide eyed what have I done? I don't even like the poor boy. At this point people were watching us, I didn't want to humiliate him and I'm not an arse so I said something that I'm going to most definitely regret.

"Yes!" I said with a fake smile staring between the people now surrounding us.

"Okay!That- that's great see you later right?" He said with a huge smile.

"Of course!" I smiled in which that smile slowly faded as he turned away.

I turned to go back to the table. I needed to look happy. He can't know. I smiled and walked back and sat down.

"Where did Onyx and Blaise go?" I asked looking around.

"I don't know probably shagging in a broom closet" he shrugged not meeting eye contact with me.

"Chase asked me out, what a coincidence he said he's been waiting to do so" I said looking at him with eyes that practically beg him to just look at me.

I messed up
but he doesn't like me
...
right?

"I've got to go, see you late Enzo!" I grab my bag to get up.

Enzos POV
I watch as she disappears in the crowd of people.

Once I know she's gone it leaves me time to think.

Do I like her?

Is that why I'm feeling this way about seeing her with him.

I can't like her. I'll just ruin her. Its all I'm good at.

I shake away my thoughts.

I should go back to my dorm.

third person POV

Lorenzo is walking back to his dorm but stops when he bumps into Lucille.

"Merlin Lucille! Can you watch where you're fucking going?" Lorenzo snaps, followed by a laugh. Lucille looks at the ground then Enzo looking very flustered. "Are you okay? Why do you look so out of breath?"

"I-."

"And why are you at the boys corridors?"

"I- I needed to get things for Blaise. F-for Charms," she responded, choking up awkwardly.

"Okay...? Well watch where you're going and calm down," he suggested. She nodded as they separated ways.
