chapter 9

Katherines POV
I had a great time with Chase, he isn't so bad. We walked back as he took me on a picnic.

I walk into the common room and see some decorations up, but for what? I go to the girls dormitories and close the door I see Onyx and Lucille in there looking at dresses?

"Hello, I'm back" I say awkwardly trying to get their attention

"Ah there you are, get ready for the party"

"Bu-"

"Ah- before you say no you have to go or else I will possibly harm you in your sleep" she smiles

"Now get your arse over here and pick out your outfit"

Not wanting to argue I go over there and pick a dress.

Once I figure out what dress I want. I strip not caring because Onyx and Lucille are my friends and I really don't care today for some reason. Let's just say I'm feeling really bold.

I turn around towards them with my dress and brush it off then meet eye contact with both of them.

"You look fucking hot" Onyx said mouth open

"You look so good Katherine"  Lucille says smiling

"Thank you" I smile in return

We help each other out with makeup and everything.

Once we were all ready we were late, but I like to call it  fashionably late.

I was still getting my earrings on while Lucille and Onyx already headed to the party.

I walk down and see all slytherin there. Hell, I even saw some hufflepuffs.

I go to get a drink but feeling the burning sensation is mesmerizing. Next thing I knew I was on my fifth cup, giggling uncontrollably.

I walk to where everyone was dancing, I was dancing with someone. I didn't know who but that didn't matter, the feeling was amazing just letting everything go. Finally breathing.

Swaying my hips and jumping to the music, I feel a hand on my wrist leading me out of the crowd.

I finally saw who it was and attempt to break loose of their grip. But I'm pinned against the wall.

"Lorenzo what the fuck. Let me go back" I scoff

"How much did you fucking drink?" He looks mad. uh oh

"None of your fucking business now leave me alone" I try to walk away but he grabs my wrist again.

"You're one to fucking talk" he scoffed "after you fucking ditched me for your little boyfriend"

My eyes went wide even with the all the alcohol in my system. I knew I fucked up. But I want to stand my ground.

"Why do you fucking care so much? we can literally hang out anytime. Chase asked me out first. I wasn't gonna ditch him for my friend, who I can hang out with any time" I grit through my teeth

He genuinely looked hurt.

"Because I fucking like you okay?" He says in a low frustrated whisper running his hands in his hair.

I stood there trying to process what my best friend of multiple years just said to me. This couldn't be happening. Yes I've dreamt about it but dreams aren't supposed actually to come true.

"What? Lorenzo you like me? And you tell me now, out of all the places and days in the world when we're fucking arguing in a corner at a party, I'm also drunk as hell and-"

He kisses me

I kiss back

The kiss slowly got rough but I didn't want it to go any further so I step back pushing his chest back slightly.

"I'm sorry. I just can't do this right now" I walk away. I fucking walk away, this is what I've wanted right? What do I do? I fucking walk away.

I go back to my dorm, thank Merlin Lucille and Onyx weren't there, I didn't want comfort I just wanted to be alone.

I just cry and cry thinking about how I just fucked up in about 1000 ways.

I fall asleep- crying.

What was I gonna do tomorrow? I couldn't face him, the guilt, the embarrassment, just everything.

Lorenzos POV

I'm left there alone.

I kissed her.

What the absolute fuck was I thinking. Here's the thing. I wasn't.

I just ruined one of the best friendships I've ever had over a silly little crush.

The next day

The next day Katherine didn't go to any of her classes. Didn't go to breakfast with her raging headache.

It's true to say she looked like a mess her dress messed up one of the straps fell on the side of her shoulder her hair in a messy bun and mascara and eyeliner smudged under her eyes.

She heard a knock at the door- but chose to ignore it.

"Katherine please open the door. I brought you food." Lucille says on the other side of the door. And with that she walked up to the door.

Lucille took one look at her, her eyes widened. Katherine had always been organized and never let anyone see her like this if she were to end up like that.

She handed her the paper back of little snacks.

"Thanks" she said in a unreadable expression.

"Oh it's nothing I just noticed you didn't go to breakfast or any of your classes so I just figured-"

Katherine shut the door not letting her finish then yelled

"Thanks I really do appreciate it Lucille, but bye now" she said sarcastically

It was lunch and everyone was sitting at the table in silence.

"Where's Katherine?" Blaise asked

"In her dorm, she's been there all day. It's really bad it looks like she's been crying for hours. I dropped off food for her but she shut the door on me right after" Lucille said concern in her voice

Draco chuckled

"What the fuck Draco, somethings up with her and you're here laughing?" Onyx scoffed

"Lorenzo why don't you tell them or should I do the honors?" Draco asked even with the death glare Enzo was sending him.
