Chapter 1

Hyunjin stares attentively at the house right in front of her, waiting patiently in her dad's car with her sisters. 

"Can you please stop tapping please?" Yerim said, glaring at her youngest sister next to her. 

Hyejoo took one look at Yerim and continued tapping the armrest of her seat. 

"Hyunjin, do something about her!" Yerim yelled, now crossing her arms and pouting. 

"Shh both of you shut up, can't you see we're on a job." Hyunjin finally cracked and yelled at both of them. 

"What did I do?" Hyejoo shrugged her shoulders confused why Hyunjin yelled at her. Yerim glared at Hyejoo, sticking out her tongue before looking away. 

"Listen I get you're bored but mom and dad just went in there and we need to be ready if they need back up." Hyunjin explained looking at them both before turning back to look at the house her parents just sneaked into.

"They never need help though, like why do they train us for if they never actually let us do anything." Hyejoo voiced her annoyance. 

"You know they're just protecting us, dad said eventually they'll let-" 

"Oh come on Hyun, you know that's bull. They'll never let us do anything. We can't hunt, we can't have fun, we can't be normal. What the freaking point." Hyejoo sighed and decided to get out of the car after her outburst. Hyunjin and Yerim followed right after walking behind her.

 "Where are you going?" Hyunjin asked, grabbing her sister's arm a bit harsher than she meant to. 

Hyejoo quickly shook it off and heaved a big sigh. "I'm gonna leave, mom and dad don't need me any-" Hyejoo stopped talking as soon as she saw her dad running towards them with their mom's body in his arms.

Hyunjin reacted first running over to him to get their mother in the car. Yerim and Hyejoo soon ran over and got into the car as well before they took off. 

"What happened, dad?" Hyunjin asked as she sped through the streets. 

Their father was in the back seats of their minivan holding onto their mother trying to stop the bleeding. 

"The shapeshifter was impersonating their son and they didn't know. So once we got in there your mother took the kids to the basement while the parents and I were gathering all the silver in the house. After a minute or two, I hear your mother scream so we run down there and see the daughter is dead on the floor and the son is stabbing your mother. So I ran up to kill the little son of a-"

 "Dad!" Yerim cuts him off. 

"Sorry, it's just your mother didn't even see it coming. That's the first thing I should've checked." Their father said, softly stroked their mother's head.

Once in front of the emergency room, their father rushed their mother in with Yerim, while Hyunjin went with Hyejoo to park the car. 

"Hyun do you think she'll be okay?" Hyejoo asked her oldest sister, walking with her side by side back to the emergency room entrance. Hyunjin looked over to her and patted Hyejoo's head, 

"Yeah, they always pull through. Remember when dad got scratched up by that werewolf?" Hyejoo laughed at the memory of their father prancing Yerim by wearing a werewolf mask. 

The two entered and walked over to the nurse's station. 

"Excuse me, uh my mom just came in do you know where she went," Hyunjin asked, while Hyejoo stood behind her looking around for Yerim or their dad.
