Chapter 4

After a couple of weeks, the girls have come into a comfortable routine.

Hyunjin would wake up early every morning at 4, goes out for a run, makes sure none of the salt lines weren't broken, and gets ready for her day. During school, she would stare at Heejin any chance she got and have lunch with her friends. After school, she would practice with Yeojin's friend Yujin, while Yeojin, Vivi, Jinsoul, and Yves would watch from the bleachers. Then she would visit her mom in the hospital and hang out with Heejin when no one was around.

Yerim would get up and make breakfast for her and Hyejoo since Hyunjin would already be on her way to school thirty minutes early for some reason. At school, she'd hang out with Yeojin most of the time since they had most of the same classes. Jungeun convinced her to join the choir with her and Haseul, so she does that after school. Sometimes she practices volleyball with Jungeun after choir, but other days she goes to visit her mother. Since the doctor had told them their mother was now officially in a coma, Yerim often just goes to keep her company because she thinks her mom feels lonely. Their father also hasn't returned, which concerned Yerim the most, causing her to call him every day only to be sent to his voicemail.

Hyejoo, on the other hand, didn't care as much since she knows her father would never leave them. She knew he'd come back. 

"Maybe he lost his phone. Maybe he broke his phone. Maybe a monster ate his phone." She would say. 

Either way, she enjoyed their new life. Yerim would wake her every morning. At school, she'd play iMessage games with Chaewon, who she became very close with during the last week. Chaewon and Heejin persuaded her to join their dance team, which she unwillingly joined, and only did to spend more time with Chaewon. After that, she'd visit her mom, sometimes joining Yerim. She also got roped in by none other than Chaewon to let Aisha help her practice for basketball tryouts. While she practices, Chaewon, Mia, and Seoyeon watched them; though she barely stuck around after, instead, she'd say a quick goodbye to Chaewon and thanks to Aisha before running off.

This upcoming week though, would be a cause to change up their schedules. 

Tryout week.

It was currently after school, and Yerim stood in the middle of the gym with Jungeun by her side. 

"You ready, Choerry?" Jungeun asked, wrapping an arm around the younger's shoulder. 

Yerim smiled at her nickname and remembered the day she got it.

Jungeun and Yerim had been practicing for a while now, and they were taking a water break. Yerim plopped herself down on the floor and began to take deep breaths before falling fast asleep. "

Yerim ready for sets?" Jungeun said after sending a quick text to Jinsoul about having to reschedule their study session. 

"Yerim?" Jungeun now walked over and poked Yerim's shoulder. 

Yerim simply groaned and scrunched her nose but continued to sleep. Jungeun took out her red pen from her backpack and took off the cap. Looking for inspiration, she saw Yerim had a cherry case for her hand sanitizer. 

'Perfect.' Jungeun thought and began to draw.

After a few, Yerim woke up and found Jungeun working out. 

"Did I fall asleep? I'm so sorry." Yerim said. 

"It's alright. It's getting pretty late, though. I'm gonna head home; you should too." Jungeun said, packing up her stuff.
