Later that day Hyunjin decided to skip practice since she received a voicemail from the hospital stating they were trying to reach their father but failed and needed to talk to her about her mother. She didn't want to worry her sister so she lied and said she just wasn't feeling well. Fortunately, Hyejoo wasn't the type to nurse you back to health, so Hyunjin was able to leave while her sister stayed for practice.
"What do you mean you wanna unplug her? Last week didn't you say she was doing well and you had high hopes she'd wake up!" Hyunjin asked the doctor in front of her.
He looked around at the curious eyes and tried to calm the girl down. "Ms. Kim, you're mother did have a good week last week but usually patients get a lot better before getting worse."
"Enough, we are not unplugging her. Let me just get a hold of my dad and then we'll talk."
"Ms. Kim not to be insensitive but your mother is keeping up space here in our ICU. We might get other patients who need her spot and I can't-"
"Is this about the money you little selfish-"
"Hyunjin!?" Heejin yelled from across the hallway.
Hyunjin instantly stopped her fist that was an inch away from the doctor's face and retracted it.
"I'm so sorry doctor. Are you alright? My friend here is just very emotional. Let's just back away and take some air." Heejin says, firmly grabbing Hyunjin's hand and dragging out into the hospital's courtyard.
Heejin led her to a random bench and sat her down. "What the hell Hyunjin, you were just about to punch a doctor what's gotten into you!" Heejin scolded the girl.
Hyunjin's head was hanging causing Heejin to squat down to see if the girl was okay. What she didn't expect was the girl's shoulders to start shaking and small sobs came from the taller girl.
"Hyunjin?" Heejin whispered, with her hand hovering over Hyunjin's shoulder contemplating whether to hug the girl or not.
After a few minutes, Hyunjin took a long sigh, lifted her head, and wiped the tears away. She stood up and started to walk back to her mother's room.
Heejin quickly got up and ran to stop the girl, "Woah, wait a sec Hyun. Are you okay?"
"I'm fine! Please let go." Hyunjin said bluntly.
Heejin looked down at her hand holding onto Hyunjin's and let's go. Hyunjin didn't waste a second and walked off, leaving Heejin there looking down at her hand.

"Where were you?" Yerim asked Hyunjin as she walked into the house.
"Sick my ass, did you skip practice to hang out with Heejin?" Hyejoo chimed in from the couch.
Hyunjin furrowed her eyebrows and put down her backpack before taking off her shoes. "Why would I be with Heejin?"
Hyejoo scoffed while Yerim chuckled.
"I was at the hospital, they tried to unplug mom."
"What?!" Hyejoo and Yerim both say.
"Why? Is she okay?" Yerim added.
Hyunjin sighed and went to grab her phone. "From what the doctor says, no. But I told them to keep her alive because mom is tough and will get through this. Anyway, I'm calling dad, he needs to come and sign some papers."
