We all sat around a table in the living room and on the table there were 3 bottles of some nasty looking vodka that I guess we were going to be downing. "Seeing as its your birthday soon, you get to choose the drinking game." Julian smiled and turned to face me. I rolled my eyes and smiled, turning to face Iona- who was staring at me with starry eyes.

She had apparently admired me ever since I had punched that redhead girl Tabitha in the face. It was a bittersweet memory.
"I invited a couple of people." Dean muttered, attracting our attention. I smiled and nodded, I could tell Dean was trying to interact with us.
"Don't mind him, he's not always that quiet- he's just intimidated because you're so pretty." Brenna said, making Dean suddenly become red and flustered. I chuckled and thanked Brenna for the compliment. The boy suddenly grabbed out his phone and looked like he was scrolling through Instagram or something like that. Julian walked past him and grabbed his phone out of his hand and they started arguing in the next room. We could all tell that it was nothing serious though, it just sounded like Dean was being whiny.

We started drinking before the people Dean had invited arrived, Julian started blasting music through a Jbl boombox speaker making us all stand up and dance. Iona took my hand and asked me for a dance to which I obviously agreed, she had changed so much but had become strangely very attractive. "Ok! Drinking game is...every time Dean says something we all have to take a shot." I shouted over the music, making everyone laugh excluding Dean- who was sitting on the sofa and rolled his eyes.
"I do talk you know-"
"SHOTS ALL AROUND!!" We all shouted in chorus, and then burst into laughter once again.

Slowly we were starting to get more and more drunk and our dancing was becoming very sloppy but it didn't matter because we were all having so much fun. I felt so happy for the first time in months I couldn't believe it, I had just met some of these people but it now felt like I had known them forever, we were all acting so comfortable around each other.

A loud knock at the door didn't grab our attention for some reason, but Dean got up instantly and walked towards the door, opening it and letting in the couple of people of people that had arrived. I was currently singing very loudly and out of tune to a song with Brenna, who had been dancing with me and Iona up until now. She suddenly left us though and screamed out someone's name.
"SARAHHHH!!!" She screamed, running and jumping into someone's arms. That name sounded oddly familiar but I was too drunk to think about it much.

Another figure moved into the room and I turned around to see who it was, but when I made eye contact with him my whole body froze. I suddenly couldn't move and it felt like I was going to throw up. He hadn't changed a bit since I last saw him, he still had the same undercut and curtains that I knew so well but he had got rid of his blue tips so now his hair was just fully black. The sight before me was one I couldn't ever imagine, he was turning around and smiling to everyone, greeting them one by one.

Everything felt like it was going in slow motion when I we made eye contact, it was like the whole world suddenly melted away from us. I did something that I wouldn't ever done sober, I ran up to him and hugged him.

The smell of his cologne filled my nose and I felt like crying, it was so nostalgic for me. I honestly thought he would awkwardly hug me back but instead he clasped onto me tightly. When I realized what I was doing I instantly let go and neatened out my clothes. He also did the same and awkwardly coughed,  but that wasn't the worst part- the worst part was that everyone had gone silent in the time that we had hugged, which made everything ten times more cringe. I winced and then asked Julian where the bathroom was, he slowly pointed up the stairs and I thanked him, scuttling off.

When I got into the bathroom my head was spinning, I couldn't come to terms with what had just happened and it felt like all my repressed emotions were surfacing. It was as if a pot of water had been on low heat for 4 years and was now finally boiling and bubbling. I grabbed my head and slid down the door, groaning at myself.

A small knock on the door made me jump, "Who is it?" I asked weakly.
"It's me, just coming to check if you're throwing up or not." Judd's voice came through the door and made me actually feel sick, so I stumbled to the toilet and began throwing up all the food I had eaten for lunch, including the snacks I had munched on throughout the evening. The door suddenly opened and Judd walked in, at the sight of me throwing up he came up behind me and gathered up all my hair and held it whilst I continued to throw up.

When I was finished I grabbed the mouthwash that I found on the sink and washed it all around my mouth. I realized that Judd still had a hold of my hair, I turned around and took it out of his hand, feeling it fall back down to my shoulders. "I'm sorry you had to see me like that." I was admittedly very embarrassed.
"Don't worry about it, nothing I haven't seen before." He chuckled to himself, as if it was funny. I sighed and shook my head, realizing how immature I was being by thinking that it was awkward. It was easier to put the past in the past and focus on building perhaps a friendship.

I didn't know if it was the alcohol talking or me just being an idiot tonight but little did I know the next sentence that would leave my mouth would change my future.

"Can we start over? L-Like friends."

Why did he look so disappointed?
