Leaning against the bar counter, Balwant swirled the whiskey in his glass, listening to the chinking of the ice cubes, breathing in a fragrance that only years in an oak barrel can achieve. Another night, another reason for the Singhanias to throw a party. The music was blaring and the lights blinding. The celebration went on into the night, everyone was dancing like they had forgotten how to stand still. For some it was the alcohol talking, for some it was the hashish and for others just the excitement.

"Ek zaruri baat karni hai aapse Singhania saahab." Vikas Agnihotri, one of Balwant's business partner approached him.

"Ha bataaiye na Mr. Agnihotri." Balwant paid attention to him.

"Meri beti Tanisha bohot pasand karti hai Veeranshu ko. Woh agle hafte New York se waapas aa rahi hai. Main soch raha thha agar Veeranshu ko Tanisha pasand aa jaaye toh hum iss business partnership ko rishtedaari mein badal sakte hai." Vikas proposed.

"Mr. Agnihotri Sach kahu toh mere bete ko har naye din aur har nayi jagah par ek nayi ladki pasand aa jaati hai. Idea bura nahi hai lekin shaadi karna ya nahi karna Veer ki marzi hogi. Main kuch keh nahi sakta."

Balwant looked around searching for Veer and found him sitting idle in a corner. Not evil dark, but the noble dark, comes out through Veer's primitive drive.  He is whimsical but he does question his own actions, owns  them fully for regardless of the evil force, except in the case of true insanity, they are his.

Honestly Balwant had zero interest in his son.  His foolish child born because of his marriage with Chandrakala. Markat, the Lord worshipped by the Cheel clan conveyed that the divine order suggests that the purpose of  Veer's birth is to unite with his soul mate the Adi Naagin and establish peace between long drawn enemies - The Naag Vansh and the Cheel Vansh.

Veer has to die and he will. For what was made by the divine creator must return to the divine creator. But not before Balwant finds the reincarnated form of Adi Naagin. He cannot let the spirit of Naageshwari and Aakesh reconcile. Balwant does need resolution of conflicts and a treaty of peace. What he needs is unmatchable power and immortality. The unworthy creatures who crawl on the ground in the name of life do not deserve to live.

The Naag mani was gaurded by Chandrakala when Balwant married her. The reason he married her, even killed her. Balwant will be blessed with immortality when he would be able to use the Naag mani. Another reason Balwant needs to find the Adi Naagin. Balwant thought he would be able to utilize the Naag Mani with the help of any Naag or Naagin only to learn that a Naag had tried to use the Mani for his own selfish motive and Bholenaath cursed it. Chandrakala had said to Balwant while dying that only the powerful Adi Naagin can hold the Naag Mani and make use of it.

Veer has been a good son. But to Balwant, he is just another Cheel and so he will enjoy pulling off his wings and watch his suffering when the time comes. It is nothing personal. How could the king of the clan get personal with a a mere Cheel? Balwant knows that Veer can be very powerful and that is the reason why Balwant has not let Veer realize his powers. He has always kept the so called prince of the Cheel clan under his thumb. Veer is unaware of what his real potential is.

Until now, Balwant has made every possible effort to make Veer believe that Adi Naagin is his enemy who can threaten his life. That he needs to kill her.
