Akutagawa was abducted by foreign mercs hired by Karma Transit's remnants. Not only did they have numbers on their side, they were armed to the teeth and Jane was surprised to see Higuchi was prepared as well with guns. Anyways, the assassin knew Higuchi stand no chance against them but the blonde girl probably can't stand by and do nothing. Within almost half an hour, both young women reached at the location and Jane sneakily texted something to someone as they were waiting the right time to ambush.
"Just stay here. I'll go inside." Jane took a big gun with her and immediately ran inside without giving her a moment to say anything. Higuchi watched her easily take down armed guys bare handed even though a gun was strapped to her and she questioned herself if she was just going to stay there and let an outsider do the job when it's hers to begin with. Higuchi shut her eyes tightly and as expected, she followed after her despite Jane telling her to stay put for her signal.
And the foolish girl even shot blindly, aiming everywhere and Jane cursed at her as she had to dodge the bullets. "This is why I rather do this kind of job alone." Jane sighed and lifted her gun to shoot, backing up the mafia member who was running ahead foolishly. Not even for one second, Higuchi stopped because of fright and Jane praised her for that. After a full session of shooting, the enemies began to get fewer and as Jane was about to call for her, there was a man hiding behind Higuchi with a handgun and Jane immediately pushed her out of the way, receiving two shots on stomach.
"Austen-san!"
"Fuck, this is going to get worst." Jane grunted and killed the man with one shot. Higuchi grew panicked and had accidentally forgotten the enemies lurking behind her, fortunately, there was Jane to handle them and just in time, the reinforcement came. "Nice timing." Jane rolled her eyes and hid behind the pillars with her shirt now was all red. Ignoring them at the back, the assassin inspected every room to find Akutagawa, she will leave the rest to them now. And she found him, all bandaged, he was still unconscious and Jane walked to him wobbly.
"Why is the Black Lizard here?"
"You are our superior officer. If our superior officer is in danger, we must act."
"We received a text from anonymous, do you have any idea who is it?"
Her hand had knocked down the stuff on the table when she stumbled over her foot and his eyelashes started to flutter. His eyelids flickered open to a figure of someone towering beside him and all he could see was red. He couldn't see their face clearly but judging from the hair, he wouldn't never expected it would be her out of thousand millions people in this world. He closed them again, trying to see if it was a dream yet, that figure was still beside him. And she was. And she was bleeding. His face changed drastically for a second, showing concern for her and that's when she finally saw him.
