chapter 11: Kane

Ace's P.O.V

My lifelong butler escorts us into the villa. As soon as the door was opened, we spotted Naomi on the floor unconscious. Me and Jake ran to her side.

"Naomi...Naomi wake up," I say as I gently tap the side of her face.

Jake then pulls out his gun as he realizes we're in the dark

"Get her upstairs I'll search the perimeter " he says descending down the hall.

I pick Naomi up and carry her up the stairs. I put her on the bed as I wondered what the hell happened. Realizing she was naked I picked out a pair of undergarments and my t-shirt for her to wear.

After getting her dressed I sit in the chair in the corner of the room.

Fuck! I should of been here.

After jake scoped out the area verifying it was safe he went home to make sure Stacy was. I on the other hand stayed up all night guarding the door with my gun.

Naomi's P.O.V

I wake due to the light shining through the window.
I get out of bed to find myself dressed. i was in a large t-shirt and black lace undergarments.
I grabbed onto the bed side table to stop myself from falling.my head was killing me.

I open the door, and a man was there guarding it.

"Good morning Ms. Stewart "

"Good morning" I said confused

"Where is Ace? " I asked 

The man then leads me to the kitchen were everyone was talking.

"Naomi ...thank God you're okay. how is your head? do you need anything...medicine? Are you hungry?" Stacy says after giving me a hug and examining me frantically.

I giggle "Stacy I'm fine I swear, thank you"

Jake then makes his way over to me embracing me in a hug." I'm glad you're okay"

Ace then stands Infront of me with his hands in his pocket. He looked very intimidating but hot at the same time.

"Tell me what you remember" he said coldly.

what a dick.

We all sat at the island as I told them what I remembered.

"...and then he said I would be his and called me Amara"

Ace looked at me with an uneasy expression

"Do you know who she is" I asked

" Ace she should know ." Jake says concerned.

Ace walks around the island to rest against the counter.

"The man who attacked you is Kane. we used to be ...partners." He said regretfully

"There was a woman named Amara who I so happened to have fallen in love with but to my dismay she loved Kane...she betrayed me by gaining Intel on my business reporting to him so that he can take leadership of my business." he said continuing

"He soon had men behind him creating his own cooperation causing us to become rivals."

"One day we decided to settle the score which turned into a shoot-out. Amara accidently got shot. Kanes sat by her side as her life drifted from her body. I tried to help but it was useless".

"She had already lost a lot of blood. The police were on their way, and we couldn't stay so we fled the scene. Till this day Kane blames me for her death" he says sadly.

"I ...I loved her there was no way I wanted to hurt her."

I look at Ace suddenly feeling a slight pain in my chest towards his words.

"Okay if that's the case why is he after me,why does he want me "I asked confused.

"You look like her from your facial features, to you hair color and your build" Jake says

"What" I said shocked

Ace then hands me a picture. it was Amara and we looked almost identical but there were some differences like the way she carried herself and the fact that she had wavy short hair.

"Its why I bought you...you reminded me of her" Ace said studying me

I couldn't believe what I was hearing.

why am I always being used? First my dad then Ace and now Kane.why can't they see I'm not some object to pass around.

A tear drops from eyes onto the picture.

"Naomi...are you okay " Stacy asks

I look at her and everyone around the island as tears stream down my face.

I got up and walked out of the kitchen. I could hear jake calling for me, but I didn't care. if I stayed there any longer, I was going to explode.

I sat on the steps taking a minute to relax.
why is my life so fucking crazy .

"Naomi "

I look up to see Stacy making her way towards me to sit on the steps

"What's wrong ...why were you crying" she asked in a caring tone.

I laugh to myself

"My life is just fuckedup that's all."

 *sigh* 

she looks at me concerned

"this isn't where I pictured, I'd be at all. i had hoped Id  go back to school and pursue my career, end up with a degree and my own place, take care of my mom, and eventually have my own family but instead I'm being passed around like an object"

"I'm so sorry you feel this way and I'm truly sorry you couldn't have those thing" she says sincerely 

"Of course. We all love you know. We'd never let anything happen to you. especially Mr. Killian, he even guarded the door all night making sure you would be safe." she says continuing

that didn't sound like the Ace I knew

"Everything is going to be okay Naomi" she said embracing me into a hug

"it may not be the life you had in mind but i hope you give this one a chance" she says releasing me as she looks at me sincerely

"Thanks Stacy"

"Anytime love I'm always here for you" after saying this she stands up

"Now come. don't want them sending out a whole army to find us" she says while laughing at the thought

i got up and followed as we walked back into the kitchen. Her saying this eased the pain. i was glad to know I was loved and that they were my new family.
