Rodrick x Reader: Rodrick becomes a father

Chapter 4: surprise!

It was a Friday morning and you and Rodrick decide that Saturday would be the day you plan the surprise gender reveal to Rodricks family. "I have some money saved up" you say as you watch Rodrick get ready for the day. You notice that he is oddly up early and in a rush to get ready, his phone keeps buzzing with notifications. "Yeah I've got some money saved up too, it's just the family so I'm sure we won't spend much" says Rodrick. Soon after he gets a phone call, he quickly answers and leaves the room. The only thing that you can think of is Heather, it's gotten to the point where it seems like he's prioritizing her phone calls over you and his own child. Rodrick comes back and kisses you on the forehead, "who was that" you say in a snarky tone. "Uh it doesn't really matter, it was dumb anyway" he says as he puts his shoes on. "See you later babe, I'm going to the mall with my friends for a little bit, they said something about a new skate shop or whatever" Rodrick says before leaving the room.

Later on that day
It just doesn't make sense, your curiosity and anxiety get the best of you and you decide to call your friend Rue. "Hey Rue, do you want to go to the mall? Rodrick is acting weird and suspicious and I'm suspecting Heather might be up to something."  You say, Rue excitedly agrees. You pick her up and both of you are wearing big sunglasses and sweatshirts. "Great minds think alike huh?" Says Rue as she gets in the car. "Well I don't want him to see me or notice me" you as you drive off. You and Rue arrive at the mall, it doesn't take you long to find Rodricks friends at the skate shop but where's Rodrick? Rue decides that she wants to go into Forever 21 and there you see him. He's with Heather, your heart sinks into your stop and you can feel your blood boil. At this point in time you have no idea if you want to bear Heather or just go home take your things and leave Rodrick. "What should I do Rue" you say as tears start to form, it hasn't even been a couple minutes but you see Rue running up to Rodrick. "YOU PIECE OF SHIT" she says to him as she tries to hit him. Heather quickly gets in the way and says "so she's having her friends fight her battles, how pathetic". "Don't talk about y/n like that again bitch" says Rue. "As for you" she says directing her attention to Rodrick, "I can't believe that after all that you'd break her trust and break her heart again just for some 5'5 Malibu Barbie bitch". Rodrick comes to the realization that Rue isn't here alone and that you're also with her, "where is she" he says but then quickly notices you crying behind the clearance rack. You're so distraught you don't even want to see him, you run off and Rue follows after you along with Rodrick.

Back home
You get home after dropping Rue off and just start balling to Susan about what he's done. "Honey I'm so sorry" she says trying to console you. "My son is a dumbass and I'm so sorry he's hurt a nice girl like you". Soon after she says this Rodrick comes running into the house. "Y/n" he says but his mom soon stops what he's about to say. "Rodrick, I am so disappointed with you right now I should kick you out" Susan says with an angered tone. "Mom please let me talk to y/n" he says "no, you have put this poor girl through so much and I thought you learned your lesson the first time but it looks like the only way you'll learn is through losing your baby and your girlfriend." Susan says as she's trying to comfort you. "Rodrick, I just can't believe you'd do this to me again, even after you promised" you say with tears in your eyes. "Y/n I swear, I actually did go to the mall with my friends but she said she wanted to talk to me" he says in a shaky voice. "She wouldn't stop messaging me and calling, she found me at the mall and wouldn't stop bugging me until we talked, eventually my friends got so annoyed with her they left me and her together."  You want to believe him but you feel like he's just trying to save himself, "then what did you guys talk about" you ask. He starts to go on about how she thinks he should be with a good girl like her with money and a nice house rather than a dirty "commoner" like me who leeches off him. "Yeah that sounds like something Heather would say" you think to yourself. "Rodrick, I have given you 1 too many chances but for the sake of our baby I will work things out with you, but I will keep my promise, the next time she messages you or calls you and you answer I'm leaving and you won't see me for a very long time" you say to him with a serious tone to make sure he gets the message. You know you still love him and you probably would take him back anyway even if you weren't pregnant, but something tells you he's telling the truth. You just said all that to scare him ,  it sure did scare him though. He wanted you to go Verizon with him so he can change his number, to you that showed he was serious about not wanting to see her again. 

Friday Evening
After all that drama with Rodrick, Rue, and Heather you decide to let it go and finally go shopping for the surprise gender reveal. You and Rodrick get everything you need and start to set up while the rest of the family is at some trampoline park. You finish just as they home, "SURPRISE!!!" You and Rodrick say simultaneously. Susan and Franks expressions fill with eager as they see the blue decorations and the "It's a boy!" sign. "Another boy!" Says Susan with a happy tone. "Well y/n, be prepared because Heffley boys are a handful" Frank says with a smirk, "oh I know, I'm dating one!" You say with a small laugh. The night ends well with family, food, and the happiness of a new baby on the way, life is looking good and hopefully it stays like that for a while.
