"i hope we didn't get you into too much trouble (y/n)." kenma leaned over your desk a little attempting to look at your face. the close proximity making your eyes go big a tad and you subtly backed.

"no, i got lucky that day. you walking me home showed her that you were a good person so that contributed to the saving me part." he smiled lightly at the statement.

"oh!" he reached into his hoodie and pulled something out. "you left your chapstick at my house." he placed the (flavor) flavored chapstick in your hands. he was hesitant with his next words. "i also used it... i'm sorry. if it helps it smells really good."

you couldn't help but chuckle at him. i mean yeah, you'd have to get a new chapstick after school, but how did he not realize that it was yours.

"well i'm glad you enjoyed using it. when you really think about it isn't that an indirect kiss, kozume kenma?" you smiled and leaned over the desk, you now getting in his face. his cheeks reminded you of the color of a cherry lollipop. "do you wanna kiss me kozume kenma, huh?"

"shut up!" he abruptly stood and gathered his belongings. "let's play together after school alright?" he made his way to the door, not even looking back.

"wait, kenma! i cant play games for a week so let's meet up at an arcade or something okay." he tossed a quick 'okay' over his shoulder and left the room.

kozume kenma

he sure is a pretty boy.

"y'know my brother told me i had to stop hanging out with you." you randomly spoke making kenma a joke in his drink. "i mean obviously i'm not gonna do that. he can't tell me what to do, and even if he could i'm not gonna listen to him."

"not to sound rude, but your brother sounds like a dick." you snickered at his comment. it completely contradicted the sound of his voice. while the way he spoke was calm and soothing, his words were completely opposite of that.

"no, he totally is. he's the reason i can't play games for a week. he started getting in my face and cursing at me. i mean what i was i supposed to do, sir there and take it? hell no." you took a break a sipped on your drink. "so i did the right thing and did the same to him."

"as you should. as you should."

"but the only problem was that my mother heard commotion and he blamed everything on me so i got in trouble and she took my cords and my switch. so now i'm just sitting in my room doing nothing all day for the next week."

you both carried on talking and eating as you waited for the arcade to empty out a little bit, but it didn't seem like it'd be doing that any sooner. kenma suggested you both just go to a park instead so you both ended up doing that instead.

you followed him all the way to the rusted swings.

"are you sure these are safe to sit on?" kenma chuckled as he sat down on one himself.

"yeah they're safe, see." he swings back and forth, but not going up so high as he didn't want to use much of his energy.

"for you maybe, but i'm a tad bit bigger than you." you gestured to your behind jokingly before taking a seat on the swing but keeping most of your weight on your toes.

"i promise they're safe (y/n)." his voice was gentle as well as his eyes. the small smile he shared with you also gentle.

if there was one word to describe him, it'd be gentle. to you at least, considering all the stories kuroo had told you about lev.

"hey, (y/n)..." you looked back over at him, head tilted to the side in a questioning way. "i know this isn't like me, but... can i hold your hand?"

you waited for a second to see if he'd take it back. truly, it hadn't been like him (again, from the stories kuroo had told you). you stuck your hand out in his direction.

"sure."
