as the day grew closer, you got more nervous. i mean, yeah, it was only kenma but that was the thing... it was kenma. you'd usually been the bold one, give it take a few times, but now that you two were potentially about to be something it was kind of nerve wrecking.
your mother was still in the dark about your relationship... well potential relationship. it wasn't like she asked you, and you weren't all too sure how she'd react. it really depended on the time you'd tell her. she had to be in a good mood, preferably watching one of her tv shoes so that she wouldn't really be paying too much attention.
you peaked around the corner of her door to see her on her phone. she had her bonnet on and she was under the covers. playing in the background was an episode of good times and her puzzle game she was playing, probably candy crush or ones of the many, many, games like it.
you crept into her room and sat on the corner of the bed. she glanced up at you only to look right back to her phone.
"yes?"
"i am going out with someone tomorrow."
"okay... with (f/n) right?" you deadpanned are her. did she not remember that (f/n) left a while ago. it'd be hard to forget considering they used to come over almost everyday after school, or you'd always bring them up when ever your mom asked you about school.
"no, they moved to america, remember." she put down her phone, now fully paying attention to you. "i'm going with kenma and it's a little bit more than just going out." you played with your fingers.
"what do you mean by that? y'all having sex?" your eye nearly bugged out of your head and you quickly stood up.
"no! no, no! please no! we're just going on a date! why do you always think i'm gonna do that when i say i'm hanging out with someone new?!"
"who is kenma?" she completely ignored your reaction and what she'd said.
"don't just pretend you didn't just say that!" you groaned and ran your hand over your face, sighing heavily. "kenma is the person i was hanging out with a few days ago. y'know the one who walked me home that one night."
she sat and thought for a bit and suddenly broke into a soft smile.
"i guess you can go, you've been pretty good for the most part, and i can tell you've been pretty lonely so... you and kenma can go on your little date." she opened her arms, wanting a hug from her daughter. you wearily went in for one but was met with just a warm, normal hug. "you're growing up too fast." she chuckled to no one in particular, just speaking her mind aloud.
she pulled away and studied your face.
"so what are you gonna wear?" she sat up, much more interested in your date than anything else at the moment.

you spent the next few hours and couple of minutes with your mom deciding on how to wear your hair, what clothes to wear, even what perfume to use. you planned everything down to the wire about this date. it's now the night the date and you have everything laid out as if it was your first day of school.
you pulled your phone out and was surprised to see a goodnight text from kenma that'd he'd sent seven minutes ago. you quickly typed on back to him and decided to play on your phone until you got tired.
it was only when the clock hit twelve in the morning that you realized you still weren't tired and concluded that you were more nervous that you'd thought you were. it was only kenma, the same kenma who held your hand multiple times. the same kenma you'd been bold with a few times. the same kenma who's house you went over to and fell asleep and he walked you home. so what was so different about this kenma?
your phone buzzed right when you were about to go back to what you were doing.

//// i'm sorry for not updating yesterday !! if recently gotten into a new game and i've been playing it nearly 24/7 !! i think this book is gonna come to an end soon because i honestly don't know where to go from this point :/
but don't fret !! i'll be working on some new stories. i'll probably only be able to manage one book at a time because it's easier so that's why there aren't any there books up, but i do have some in the works.
