"did you get any rest last night (y/n)?" the girl looked away from her game and over to her friend who was chewing away on string cheese.

"it's the end of the day and you're asking me about sleep?" you chuckled as you went back to playing your game. "yeah, i slept okay though.... why am i here anyways? just to watch your friends practice?" just then the gym doors opened and kuroo came into the gym with someone, who's head was stuck into his phone.

"oi! kuroo!" her friend yelled from where they both sat on the bleachers ignoring her question.

"you're so loud." (y/n) groaned and turned her attention back to the game but only after she glanced at the dyed head boy.

"hey (friend/name), who's this you've got, never seen her before." kuroo set his bags down and walked over to the bleachers, stopping just in front if them.

"oh this lazy ass?" they chuckled as she elbowed him gently not wanting to seem rude around kuroo. "go on say hi. kuroo doesn't bite."

"hey, i'm (l/n)(f/n)... you can call me (y/n)."

"testsuro kuroo, call me what you want." he smirked before looking over his shoulder. "i'll catch up with you guys later, y'know practice doesn't wait."

(y/n) waves kuroo off as kuroo spares her a head nod goodbye as he figured she didn't talk much. when they started their warm ups, she turned towards (friend/name) with a glare and flared nose.

"you asshole, you know i'm not good with new people!" you whisper yelled even though it's be hard to hear over the volleyballs hitting the floor with a harsh sound.

"but kuroo's nice and you need new people, who knows when i'll be gone, right?" (friend/name) turns their head to the side and (y/n) scoffed mumbling a soft shut up. "you know it's just around the corner right?"

"geez you make it sound like you're dying, you're just moving to america. good luck it sucks over there." she said quietly before putting your game away and focusing on the practice.

after practice (y/n) waited for their friend at the door of the gym, not wanting to feel like a bother to anyone and just stuck to playing animal crossing on her switch.

"you play too?" the voiced had spooked her but when she turned around she was met with his smirk famous smirk.

"oh, kuroo... yeah i play sometimes." the girl went into the able sister's shop before turning her attention back to kuroo. just as kuroo was about to say something, (friend/name) came out of the gym.

"hey (y/n), you go on home now okay." the girl looked up bug eyed up at her best friend.

"but we always walk home together! is something wrong?" they didn't say anything, only wrapped their arms around her and placed their chin onto the top of her head.

"i can't walk you home today." they sighed knowingly "i have to be home early."

"oh, you're leaving?" she took a step back from the hug. "i thought you were leaving next week though." she pouted slightly.

"change of plans, dad said we have to go tonight." (y/n) stared silently at them with a blank face. she mumbled an 'oh' and squeezed them tightly for a few more seconds.

"i guess i'll see you later then, hopefully." she smiled tightly as she let go of them and turned to walk away.

"it's late (y/n), at least let me walk you home." kuroo voiced at the retreating girl's figure. she simply waved a hand back, not bothering to turn around.

"it's alright." they watched her walk away.

"hey kuroo." (friend/name) looked over to their friend. "look after her for me, okay. she doesn't talk much at first but she'll warm up to you."
