______
(y/n) despised going home today because going home would mean that the week was progressing which would mean that she was a day closer to her brother coming home. now that she'd thought about it, she was getting a second closer to the day. the only good thing about tonight was that she'd be playing animal crossing with kenma today. at least she'd have a bit of fun before it'd be ruined for who knows how long.
for now, (y/n) watched on as they practiced. kuroo promised he and kenma would walk her back home today.
you sighed as they finished their last practice match that had gone into five sets. once again, just like this morning, kuroo came up to you asking for tips on how to better himself. you gave him advice, but you were sure he'd heard it from the coach already.
"(y/n)!" a loud mouthed lev ran up to you, his smile still bright as ever. "got any tips for me?" he asked enthusiastically, green eyes staring directly into yours waiting patiently on your response.
"well..." you started. "i think you-"
"actually touching the ball. that's a good start." the coach came behind him and pat him on the back before sending him off to change. "(y/n), right?" you nodded briefly and he continued, "i heard you were a former ace... got any advice for him?" you deadpanned at him (in your mind). lev had just asked you himself.
"well as i was about to say," there was a hint of irritation to your voice but being raised in a black household you knew how to keep a good façade. "maybe he should try not to just try to touch the ball all the time. he should try to work on team work, not that he doesn't do that already y'know." you breathed out, "but yeah, i guess he should also work on touching the ball, like you said."
soon after you finished talking to the coach, you left to go finish the homework you forgot to finish yesterday. it was (least fav subject) so you had problems doing it. giving up on it just as the bell rung, you decided to shove it back into your book bag and turn it in tomorrow after you'd searched up the answers later.
.*:゚(`・ω・')ゝ゚:*.
you snapped back into reality when someone tapped on your back and passed you a stack of papers. you mumbled an apology for not taking them sooner. you took one and passed it to the next person.
by the time the teacher explained the papers, the lunch bell had rung. students soon started filing out of the classroom while some stayed put.
with (f/n) now gone, you didn't have anyone to sit with though kuroo, and maybe kenma, would come looking for you probably. you went back and fourth deciding whether to wait for them, go find them yourself, or just start eating. your phone vibrating in your desk startles you.
