I sighed as I plopped down onto my bed. I folded my hands behind my head and let my legs dangle on the edge of the bed. What happened to me today? I kept questioning myself and tried to come up with an answer, but the truth was, I don't know why I rebelled against the principal like that. "Savv, can you come down here?" my mom yelled from downstairs. Oh, boy. I dragged myself out of my bed and trudged my way down the stairs.
"Yeah mom?" I asked once I saw her in the kitchen, pacing. Oh, no, she's upset.
"S-Savv, um....." she trailed off and began to think. This might not be about my suspension. "Savv. Your father wants you to- to visit him." she said nervously.
"What's the problem? Just a visit right?" she shook her head in sorrow.
"No, Savv. He wants you to live with him." my jaw dropped.
"What?" I said, barely above a whisper, which infuriated me because I wanted to scream.
"If you leave here, you'll leave for good. You'll stay with dad." my mom sounded so sad, so vulnerable. I couldn't leave her, not in her state.
"Mom, I'm not leaving you. I'm not like dad. I'm much different from him. He may leave, but I won't. I'm staying here" I stated firmly. It felt good to say that out loud. It made me feel strong and powerful.
"Thank you, sweetie. Thank you. Oh and I almost forgot! Why did you go to school today when you were suspended? And then disrespected the principal?"
"I- um..." what was I supposed to say?
"I just wanted to know if this is true or not"
"Yes, it's true." I said guiltfully.
"No. No. Don't worry. You're not in trouble. I can't give you a punishment because well my new job requires me to go away for a month. Which means, I can't watch you and I can't trust you're babysitter. You will be grounded for a month when I get back though, got that?"
"Yeah. Yeah, got it. So who will be watching me?"
"Well, actually, I spoke with Roshell's mother about this nd she said shed be happy to watch you. So you'll be staying at their house." my jaw dropped, yet again!
"What!?!??!?!?" I screamed. I groaned and walked back upstairs. I fell onto my bed, face first. Why!? Does the Lord hate me!?!? Gah! It took all of my will power to get up and start packing my clothes. "Mom!?!?" I called.
"Yeah?" she called back.
"When will you leave!?"
"Tomorrow sweetie. I'll be giving you an extra key in case you forget something in here" I sighed as I continued my packing. I stuffed, practically, my whole closet into two suit cases. I left my dresses and heels in my closet. I went back downstairs to order a pizza. My mom was busy packing for her work, which meant she wouldn't be cooking tonight. Thirty minutes later, the pizza came and I started to eat. I left half of the pizza for my mom, in case she decided to eat. I went back upsatirs and did my usual routine befor ei went to bed. I went underneath the covers and fell into a dreamless sleep.
The next day I woke up and I instantly regretted it. Today, I was moving into the same house as Roshell. Oh, joy. I went to my suitcase and pulled out my blue skinny jeans, a striped white and grey v- neck shirt, a brown woven, leather belt, and black knee high black suede boots. I tucked my shirt into my jeans, to show off my belt. I curled my long hair and I brushed it it so it would look more casual, instead of elegant, formal. I grabbed my backpack and two suitcases and headed out the door. My mom was already outside putting her suitcases into the the trunk of her black BMW. "Bye mom. I love you. Be safe" I said while putting down my things.
"Bye sweetie. Don't cause any trouble." she said, giving me a hug. I gave her a small smile and I walked off to the Triston's house. I knocked on their door and waited. Mrs. Triston opened the door for me.
"Hello, Savv! Come in. Come in." she ushered me into the house. The house was beautiful. It was like mine, except more furnished, and it looked more expensive.
"Thank you, Mrs. Triston, for watching over me." I said, giving her a polite smile.
"Please, call me Lydia. And it's not a problem. You seem like a sweet girl." she said. I blushed at her calling me a 'sweet girl'. "Roshell! Come show Savv her bedroom!" Lydia called. Roshell came downstairs and gestured for me to follow him. I followed him up the stairs and into the guest bedroom. There was a queen bed. Next to the bed was a door that lead to the closet. Opposite of the bed were French doors, that lead to a balcony. The walls were painted a very light blue. The guest bedroom had an attached bathroom to it. Thank goodness! At least I won't be sharing a bathroom with Roshell. Across the hallwas Roshell's room. I'll be seeing him a lot. I set down my bags and began to unpack. When everything was put away, I plopped down onto the bed and stared at the ceiling. I folded my hands and lay them on my belly. My mind began to wonder about Roshell. I groaned in frustration and smacked my forehead. I closed my eyes and took three deep breaths. I shouldn't be thinking about Roshell! He doesn't matter to me! Gah! This boy makes me crazy!!!
--Roshell's POV--
I sat on the edge of my bed, deep in thought. Why can a girl like her affect me so much? Why can't I stop thinking about her? C'mon Rosh! Get your head together! You and her will never be together. But yet, I wish we were. I might be in lo- in- I can't say it. I can't admit it. It's a crazy thought to be in love.
