O N E
I F I'M B E I N G H O N E S T

Wondering around in the woods didn't scare Odette as much as it should have. Odette was just greatful to be away from her pack and so called 'mate'.
It had been a week since the incident. Her birthday would be in a month. Her 18th birthday. The day that she had hoped things would get better. She found the idea laughable. Of course her mate would've rejected her, it would've never gotten any better no matter how long she stayed with her pack.

Odette stopped walking for the night. She had found a cave, tomorrow she would attempt to find food and water. Not shifting had really made survival in the wild alone much harder.

As Odette sat against the cave wall, she allowed herself once again to think back to the dreaded day. Dispite thinking of the events that took place when she cut all ties to her pack every night she still couldn't bring herself to morn. What would she morn first? The loss of her father's love? The loss of the respect from her pack? The loss of her mate? The loss of a successful escape from her torment? Maybe she could once again morn her mother?
Dispite all the things she could morn she didn't. Instead she replayed the events. She replayed making eye contact with her mate. She replayed her words. She replayed the look on her fathers face. She replayed the way everyone looked at her, the shock and distaste on everyone's faces. She replayed every second to the last detail.
Odette knew that she had forgiven Asher, somewhere within her was a burning hatred for the alpha but she knew she wasn't good enough. Maybe that mate bond wasn't as broken as she expected it to be or maybe it was just in her innocent nature. Either way Asher was innocent in Odettes eyes.

"Who's there?" A voice called from outside the cave. Odette wrapped herself in a ball, attempting to become as small as physically possible. "We know your there." The voice called again. The voice was a deep male voice, judging from the power that came with the voice she guessed he was a Gamma. Once again Odette cursed the fact that she couldn't shift, if she had a wolf she could've been warned that she stepped onto another packs territory and avoided this situation.

Odette decided that her punishment may be lessened if she went with the man willingly and gave him any information he needed. After deciding it was for the best, Odette slowly stood up, internally whimpering at what was going to happen to her. She slowly walked out of the cave, keeping her head down in a form of submission.

"Who are you?" The man growled. Odette whimpered, not at the power that radiated from her voice but from the flashback to what her father had said to her one time. She pushed it away before thoughts could consume her and took a deep breath.

"Odette, Sir." Odette stuttered out, from her previous pack she remembered that she had to call all people around her 'Sir' or 'Miss' to remind herself that everyone was above her.

"Odette?" The man questioned. "Come with me Odette." Odette was curious about his change in tone. No longer was he harsh or angry instead he sounded curious and concerned. Dispite thinking she was wrong Odette still worried about the change.

The man started walking and Odette silently followed behind him, her head still bent, submitting to him.

The two walked for a few minutes before they approached a river, Odette hesitated. She knew that she was thirsty, she knew she had to drink. However she was scared of the man's reaction, after deciding it couldn't be that bad after the pain of rejection and cutting ties to her pack at the same time she decided to talk.
