D A N C I N G O N M Y O W NBoth Odette and Asher were tense and their wolves were on edge. While Odette wanted to simply get out of the moving car and run in the opposite direction from the man who rejected her. She wanted to run and never look back. However, Aurora wanted her mate, she wanted to run into his arms, she longed for him and the soothing mate bond that every wolf craved. While Odette lied to herself and told herself she was content with her new companions, Aurora refused to lie to herself like Odette did. Asher was facing a similar argument between himself and Logan. While Asher wanted to turn Odette away, put physical distance between himself and his rejected mate, Logan wanted the opposite. Logan sensed Aurora and longed for the mate bond that could grow between them. Both wolves wanted their other halves, however both Odette and Asher were ruled by their first meeting.
All too soon the car stopped, for Odette Asher's scent was overwhelming and she was forced to breathe through her mouth. Odette's head was trained to the ground, while she wanted to look around at her new surroundings, she knew she couldn't look at Asher. His eyes had already haunted her enough. Before Odette knew it, or Asher could stop it, the twins had ran towards her and wrapped themselves around her legs. The twins recognized her as the girl their brother had rejected, the twins had noticed that after the rejection Asher had changed, now they hoped the girl could bring their brother back. The also felt oddly connected to the girl, they were young and so didn't understand the safety they felt with her, after all she was their true Luna. Asher was shocked at how the twins had reacted to seeing his rejected mate. He was surprised that Christan had made no move to stop his sister bombarding Odette and had instead joined her. He was also surprised at how much affection the twins were showing his mate, they had never shown Lilian or anyone else in the pack that much affection except himself, Daniel and a few other people that had become apart of their family. To Asher it simply didn't make sense.
"I see you found the twins." Daniel commented, he had previously been behind a tree pulling his clothes on. The woods had hundreds of clothes dotted around for when they had to shift back unexpectedly. Daniel, unlike Asher, wasn't surprised by the twins reaction to Odette. As wolf cubs their connection with Odette would be stronger. Every cub would be more connected to their Luna then their Alpha, it was written in a wolves DNA. Every wolf in the pack would recognize Odette as their Luna just as Dante did, until the rejection was fully in place. Even then there was the possibility that the pack wolves would still recognize Odette as their Luna. It was a strong possibility. Almost as strong as the possibility that the rejection wouldn't take at all.
Daniel was smiling until Asher started to approach. Instinctively Owen and William stood in front of Odette, the twins still hugging her legs, and Alex took himself to the front. Marshall took a step closer to his niece, they wanted to protect her from any physical pain she could endure, little did they know the emotional pain already ran deep. Aurora sensed that Asher was coming closer and whimpered in Odette's head which caused a painful tugging in Odette's chest. Alex, Marshall, Owen and William already regretted bringing Odette. However, she didn't blame them. They didn't know. She had told them very little of her past.
"Alpha Alex." Asher respectfully greeted. Marshall still found it strange for his son to be called Alpha and not himself, but he was slowly getting used to it. Daniel forced himself to stand next to Asher despite his instincts to stand with his Luna. Everyone assumes that the Alpha is the one in charge. In a way that was true, the pack was always passed down to the first born son, the pack would always be led into battle by their Alpha and on a whole Alpha's are always thought of as being in charge. In reality it was the Luna that held the control. They were the ones with the special connection to the pack, they were the ones that held the power and control in reality. However, this was only true with true Luna's. Lilian would never hold half of the power of an Alpha's true mate. It was impossible.
