Ten

The sound of his sister's voice and the happiness in her actions as she ran for the door echoed in Taehyung's ears.

"Daddy's home!" Jennie giggled in delight, plunging herself in her father's arms.

"What a warm welcome from my princess."

Taehyung heard his father's voice and the affection he had for Jennie. This made him peek from the sofa where he's hiding, enough to see his father's smiling face as he cradled Jennie in his arms.

He wanted to run to him, but he knew he couldn't. As he silently stared at the two, he caught sight of his father now looking at him.

"Taehyung."

He called out, making him hide even more.

"Won't you welcome daddy with a hug?"

Those words made Taehyung peek again, happiness blossoming in his young heart in excitement to feel his father's embrace.

However, his happiness was short lived when he saw Jennie looking at him with anger in her eyes.

The sound of the alarm blasted, ringing loud in Taehyung's ears enough to wake the hell out of him.

He sluggishly sat on the bed, body feeling heavy as he turned off the alarm.

The sun was already up and shining, yet Taehyung didn't have the least interest to stand and get ready for school.

If not for his lined up exams, he wouldn't move out of bed the whole day. He felt so drained for some reason as he lazily went out of his room for breakfast.

Taehyung noticed a sticky note on the fridge, from his sister who had already gone to school.

I made porridge for breakfast.

He took the note before rummaging inside the fridge to look for the food. Good thing his sister didn't cook much because he's really not in the mood to eat.

If not for the scolding he would get later for not eating, Taehyung would just prefer to skip breakfast.

His body just felt heavy, probably from all the work he did yesterday for the school festival.

He's just not feeling good.

As he readied himself to go to school, he heard his phone ring a couple of times before he was able to answer.

"Hey." Taehyung uttered while checking the plugs and the locks, securing everything before going out.

"Hey, are you not coming to school? Did you forget we have exams today?"

Taehyung groaned. Jackson's voice rang to his ears, making his head hurt even more.

"The fuck are you yelling early in the morning?" Taehyung responded as he walked down the street.

"Early? Dude it's past 10 now. You missed three subjects already." Jackson pointed out as if Taehyung wasn't aware of it.

"I'll be there before the fourth subject so calm down. You're making my head hurt." Taehyung snickered.

"Whatever. Just hurry. Yoongi is already pissed for having to cover for you." Jackson chuckled.

Taehyung couldn't help but grin, imagining Yoongi's face and his usual scowl.

"Tell him I'll treat him to lunch." He bargained, earning a laugh from the other line.

"He said fuck you." Jackson said, humor laced in his voice.
