Chapter 1.4

In Connor's Room:

Connor: Hey there.

Joyce: Hello!

She's fixing her things and she is getting ready to sleep. 

Connor: Uhhm, do you need help?

Joyce: Nah, I got this.

She noticed Connor's piano at the other side of the bed. 

Joyce: You play this?

Connor: Yeah! My dad taught me how to play that when I was 7.... Do you want me to play it?

She nodded and Connor sang "All of Me". While he's playing the piano, she's just sitting there, watching Connor singing. After finishing the song...

Joyce: You're voice is very nice! *smiles*

Connor: Thanks! Hmmm, how bout you sing for me?

Joyce: No, I ca---

Connor: Aww, please? One song won't hurt? It's just you and me.

That angelic and husky voice made Joyce see sparks everywhere. She's just staring at him, eye to eye. Connor noticed that Joyce is just silent cause he keeps talking and she's not even responding.

Connor: Joyce? *touching her cheeks* Joyce!

Joyce: Oh, what? Sorry, I was thinking of something.

Connor: So now can you sing for me?

Joyce: Yes! Okay okay! *starts the song* "I drove by all the places we used to hang out getting wasted..."

He's just staring at her just like Joyce did when he was singing.

Joyce: "Sometimes I start to wonder was it just a lie?"

He looked down and remembered someone, his girlfriend.

Joyce: "I wish that I could wake up---" *notices Connor's reaction* Hey, what's wrong?

Connor: *teary eyed* Nah, it's nothing really.

Joyce: (Maybe he remembers someone in his past) You're just tired that's all. We're all tired.

Then there was silence. Silence that lasted minutes. Connor broke the silence...

Connor: We should sleep now, we're gonna do many things tomorrow.

Joyce: Oh, yeah... I'm sleepy too.

They went to sleep...

In Zayn's room:

Julia: Gosh!

Zayn: What happened?!

Julia: Do you love reading books?

Zayn: Yeah! *smiles* How about you?

Julia: We're the same!

She's searching for a book to read to Zayn's bookshelf.

Julia: Oohh, I love this book! *gets book titled The Fault In Our Stars*

Zayn: Really? I also love that book.

Julia: Can I borrow it? Please?

Zayn: Yeah sure!

She went to the bed and read it. Zayn finished getting ready to sleep when she saw Julia just reading by the window. He's just staring at her. 

Julia: *noticed that Zayn is staring at her* Uhh, Zayn? Is there something wrong?

Zayn: Nothing... You're so beautiful.

Julia: Wh--aa--t?

Zayn: Yeah, you're beautiful.

Julia: *blushing* Thanks...So... Uhh... I'm gonna s-sleep now.

Zayn: Sure thing... Good night.

Julia: Good night.

In Luke's Room:

Luke: Woah, it's almost midnight, Ghiel. Why aren't you sleeping?

Ghiel: Gotta prepare this weapon and make sure it still works.

He saw Ghiel still up and preparing her things for tomorrow. 

Luke: I guess you're busy so good night.

Ghiel: I'm almost finished.

Luke: So am I on the right side and you're on the left okay?

Ghiel: Where?

Luke: The bed. It's just one so yeah.

Silence again is in the room... Ghiel asked Luke for plans tomorrow...

Luke: We're gonna hunt supplies and find more guys and help.

Ghiel: We don't need any help. Plus, how can we trust other people?

Luke: we need help. If we want to survive, we'll need help.

Ghiel: No... We can do it by ourselves!

Luke was shocked. He was shouted by her. Then she went to the window and he went to the bed. Then he noticed that she's crying.

Luke: What's wrong?

Ghiel: Nothing... It's j-just that I'm stressed that's all.

Luke: C'mon. Let's go to sleep already. We're gonna be hunting tomorrow.

Ghiel: Yeah...

And both of them went to the bed and went to sleep...
