Chapter 3.3

Luke' POV:

Why? Oh God! How the..? No... This can't happen. Why!?

I grabbed the talkie from Julia's hands, "You shouldn't have let her be all by herself!" And after that, I dropped it on the ground and shot it. "Luke! What the actual fuck!?" Sandra said. "Walkers from a hundred meters could've heard that!" Zayn said as he grabbed the gun on my hand. "Here we go again." Julia said and she went inside the van.

"Luke, just move on. Please, for the betterment." Joyce said, trying not to strike a nerve on me. I shed a tear, I have no idea why, "Easy for you to say. Because you don't know how it feels. If only you knew." I said.

"Look, we all know how it feels. You're not alone. She also left us. Please, don't make this much harder for all of us." Connor said. I kept my mouth shut and I looked at my feet. He's right. She didn't just leave me, she also did something that I know she wouldn't. Michael patted my back and smiled at me, "We can get through this, Luke. We're here, bro."

I heaved a sigh and I smiled. Yeah I'm not alone. They're still here. There is still hope on this darned apocalypse.

Zayn's POV:

We really are searching for her. We aren't really telling Luke since we don't know what kind of reaction we would get. But after hearing the news about her, we stopped. We left the undead town a few minutes ago since there was nothing but walkers.

An hour passed and we were all surprised by a sudden stop. "Wait here." Julia said as she opened the door of the pick up. "I'm going with you." I said and we went outside. The snowfall was thin but I don't know how we'll find a village here since it's foggy outside. I wonder why she went outside. But my question was easily answered.

We saw a girl with a small dog. A teenager. She looks like she's only fourteen. She was alone in the middle of a snowy weather. Our arrival made her nervous but Julia said, "Don't worry we aren't here to hurt you." I don't know if she was shaking because of us or because of the cold, Julia went closer to her and said, "Fuck, you're freezing. Let's get you inside." Then Julia took off her jacket and covered it on the girl. I could tell the girl was doubting. Who wouldn't be right? But Julia convinced her that we really won't do anything to her. The girl finally nodded and went with us on the van. I scooped her dog in my arms, which was surprising since the dog didn't even growl at me. We stopped here for a while because the snow was getting thicker and it's really hard to see on the road. We don't want to risk our lives here, otherwise we would be dead meat.

"Are you with someone?" I said, breaking the silence between us and her. She shrugged, "Well I was but they left me for a reason they alone know." I wrinkled my eyebrows at that. How could those people leave a child like her? I mean yeah she's fourteen but, in this world? She can't go on by herself. If there's a way to help her, I would help out. "Who were those people?" Julia asked. She sighed and I could tell she's about to cry when she exhaled, "M-my parents..."

"Wh--How could they?!" Julia gritted her teeth in anger. Never thought she'd be caring for a child. The girl spoke, "I don't wanna know why. It's best no to." Then, Sandra asked, "Do you still want to look for them?"
"Maybe... I don't know... And besides they don't want me that's why they left me. Why are you asking me all of this questions?" The girl answered. "Well we just want to know." Julia said. I pet the dog's head and it softened since the dog was a bit tensed when I picked him up. "We didn't catch your name, darling." Connor said. "I'm Meghan by the way. And that French bulldog is Felix." She said. Then we also introduced ourselves.

"Do you want to come with us? We can help you out." Julia said, with a hint of concern on her face. Meghan sighed again, "How can I trust all of you? You might be just playing games on me." Julia fixed her glasses and said, "Well, if I'm a dangerous person, I would've killed you by now" Sandra spoke, "And this situation isn't really a game. Survival isn't a game."
