05: afternoon shenanigans

"You're so whipped..." Jaemin laughed at Maya's lovestruck look, "But can't I at least get a hint to who Golden is?" "No."

"Not even the gendew?" He pouted at Maya, attempting to act cute.

The girl cooed in response, as Risa cringed with a disgusted face, "So cute! Maybe I'll give you a hint..." "Oh? Rewwy?" Jaemin leaned closer, still acting cute.

"If you treat me bubble tea for a week." Pausing, Jaemin frowned, contemplating on his choice before making up his mind, "Deal. Your usual?" "Yup, peach black tea with pearls and lychee jelly, but if they don't have it, lychee black tea with the same toppings. If neither are available—"

"Peach milk tea." Jaemin finished, "We grew up together and with the Dreamies, besides Risa who came in right when high school started. I know yours off by heart."

A satisfied smile on her face, Maya ignored Risa's look not to tell Jaemin any hints, "Golden is in the same year level as us."

"YO WHAT?" Several other eyes in the classroom turned to the boy, as he apologised, "That's a lot of people to pick from! Hey, do I know this—"

"Only one hint." Jaemin huffed at Maya's answer, Risa laughing at the presence of her friend's sadness.

"I'm confessing to Golden in a month or two, you'll see who it is soon." With that, the boy let out a similar satisfied smile as Maya did earlier, "Can't wait to see it. If he rejects you, let me know as I'll talk to him." Unbeknownst to Maya, Jaemin was ready to do more than talk.

"Wait, can I say something unrelated?" Once seeing both of her friends nod, Risa continued, "I feel like Jaehyun's up to something not so good."

Scrunching his face in confusion, Jaemin turned his body fully to his shorter friend, "What makes you say that?"

"Well—" Seeing the teacher enter class, Risa waved it off, "I'll tell you later, at lunch."

Whilst Jaemin turned back to face the teacher, Maya noted that Risa's eyes looked sad. Concern for her friend's relationship filled her, but she pushed that concern to be touched upon later - at lunch.

Classes passed, and lunchtime came. 

"You're not usually here," Mark pointed out, watching Risa sit, "What's the reason?"

"Jaehyun avoided me. All of 127, too."

Suddenly, all was quiet on the Dream table, everyone listening to Risa. She never used Jaehyun's full name unless it was serious or she was telling him off for the countless dumb actions he's taken, although she was guilty of some dumb actions herself.

Jeno hummed, frowning, "That's not really like them..."

"Right? Maybe I did something wrong? Cause no one wants to tell me, and it hurts." Risa huffed, some strands of her hair falling in front of her face.

"Maybe it's a guys only thing and they just wanted you to be comfortable elsewhere." Haechan shrugged, Shotaro, Jeno, Jaemin and Mark nodding.
