All Hell Breaks Loose.

"Lucius?"

Blinking, I looked up from another dreary sheet of parchment and frowned at the man standing in the doorway to the throne room. Castiel was panting, his cheeks flushed as if he had been running and his dark sweaty hair clung to his head. I let the papers fall from between my nerveless fingers.

Something was wrong – I knew it with certainty.

Waving to get his attention, Castiel breathed a sigh of relief as his gaze met mine. My hands tingled with the need to call forth my angel sword into existence. It would only take a single thought, to use my will to bring the deadly weapon into existence. There had to be a great danger for Castiel to look so disorientated. He had seen the rise and fall of countless human civilizations without missing a step. He had endured true horror at the hands of the Horsemen of the Apocalypse. If he was worried now, as he had never looked before, I had many reasons to be concerned.

"What is it Castiel?" I asked, rising from the table to meet him.

The man looked between the woman still sat at the table and then back at me. I could see the question in his gaze.

"It's fine. I don't hide anything from Savannah." I assured him through I mentally crossed my fingers. No matter how much I loved the open relationship we had, there were some secrets even I was bound to keep. And there were also some secrets she really didn't need to know about like that time in fifteen ninety with the hag. No one needed to know about that – I would forget it if I could.

"Some of the security alarms have been triggered." Castiel spoke hastily, his eyes darting over his shoulder as if he expected us to be overheard.

Raising a brow, I stared down at him. "Where?"

Castiel hesitated. The uneasy sensation bubbling through my veins only intensified. I knew the answer before it escaped his lips. "Tartarus."

Glancing down at Savannah, the brunette hadn't even looked up from her papers. She was oblivious to the world around her as she worked. She blew at an errant strand of short brown hair which hung in her face before swiping his out of the way but still she did not look up. I felt my lips curling up into a smile. She's beautiful and she's mine.

"I'll be there in a moment Castiel," I murmured, my eyes never leaving my fiancée.

It still felt strange to think it – fiancée. In all of my time living among the humans, I had never felt the urge to participate in matrimony. It had always sent a shiver of fear down my spine and not in a good way either. I had been far from a gentleman before meeting Savannah. It was easy to admit that I had been a bit of a pig; I used woman after woman for my own pleasure with no thought to their feelings.

Savannah had changed me – more than even she knew. She had managed to fix something which had been broken for millennia. The thought of marrying her didn't inspire fear and terror. Instead it felt like all of the pieces were finally together – it felt right.

Stepping closer to my Bride to be, I leant down and brushed my lips across her cheek. Jumping, her brown eyes lifted from the sheets of paper at last.

"Hey," Savannah murmured, her eyes roving over my face. Though I was sure I looked like my normal dazzling self, she immediately tensed her limbs. "What's going on? What's wrong?"

Brushing my lips over her forehead, I pull away and smile. "Nothing, it's just a minor disturbance."

"Don't give me that. You forget that I know you." She retorted, folding her arms over her chest. "Don't try and protect me Lucius. It will only end up with someone getting hurt and that someone is you."
