The IPL was finally over the teams were all packed up ready to go back home. While the international players were ready to go back to their respective countries, national players were ready to go back home to their respective states. The ICT members were packed up to go to Australia. High on excitement they arrived at the airport and were taken to the lounge where they were tested and kindly asked, more like begged to stay away from each other till the results are back. So, seating away from each other these brothers looked at everyone around them longingly. You know, in school when you forgot to take your lunch box and the person next to you is eating your favourite dish, without sharing. Ya that's what they were feeling so close yet so far one may say. Looking at their gloomy expressions their captain couldn't help but say "you know they asked to stay away not to stay silent". he didn't need to say anything more as his kiddos attacked him with their verbal attacks without caring about the others. Jinks couldn't help but shake his head for one knows once Virat and his Vanar Sena start than no one and when he means no one means NO ONE can stop them, henceforth the name vanar sena lead by the one and only King Kohli.
Looking at this chaos Ash couldn't help but think after being away from each other and from the game they loved, here they are back together doing what they loved the most and said "at least we are ending this year with a positive note". who knew this one sentence had the power to do the impossible, the whole room froze in their stance and stared at its source. Ash couldn't help but contemplate his sentence for one knew ICT and silence don't go hand in hand. The team sitting there started thinking about the positives and negatives of 2020.
Kuldeep was the first one to break the silence and say "there are a few things that were good about this year right, it wasn't completely bad Haina Bhaiya '' looking at his elder brothers. This sparked a debate as not everyone was as optimistic as our Kuliya. thus, broke a verbal war with opinions firing in the air like guns blazing bullets. Jinks couldn't help but shout and ask them to stop, for asking them in a civil way won't take him anywhere. So just like the UN intervenes in war he intervened "Guys screaming won't take you anywhere" and after multiple attempts, he somehow got them to stop as he knew the potential these young lads had. So, he suggested having a civil debate with Jinks and Ash acting as mediators for the both teams. this would keep them distracted for some time, right?
Vi being Vi decided he will take the role of the UN and stay neutral. He was in no place to take sides as they were his kiddos and he knew what the repercussions will be. So being the good, mature and smart elder brother he is, dragged a chair in the middle of the room saying, "let the debate commence" and clapped his hands twice. like a king waiting to be entertained. Ash and Jinks just shook their heads praying to the almighty if he could send his utmost saviour who could tame these hooligans. But much to their dismay their prayers weren't answered as the messiah they hoped for was on his way to Ranchi.
The debate started with Shreyas and Shaw who couldn't help but whine about their loss to which Harry proudly boasted we won. Creating ruckus from the remaining boys talking of their teams to which Vi intervened by saying his Mahi Bhais words with his own twist for his kiddos. "winning and losing comes hand in hand. You lost today but you still have tomorrow and that's what you need to remember. What matters the most you are now is that you have learned a new lesson and you should be proud of yourselves for I am very proud of you, all of you". he turned his gaze around and looked at each and every one of his kiddos who were now looking at him with a happy expression, their bhaiya was proud of them regardless what they did. he couldn't help but laugh at the expressions of his besties who were in shock listening to him.
Many arguments were thrown and countered by the young lads but were concluded by their sensible older brothers who knew how to pacify their little ones. but there was one argument that they couldn't encounter and however much they tried they couldn't help but agree with. That argument was presented by their very sweet Jassi "Mahi Bhai retired" with a very sad face. Rahul added on to it by saying "and we couldn't give him a proper farewell" with a sad face. "We couldn't even thank for all the things he did for us, for supporting us" added Shreyas with a sigh. "for teaching us" added Rishab, "loving us" "motivating us" "guiding us" "not giving up on us" "for standing by us" responses started flooding all over the room. looking at their faces one could say these kids would burst crying any moment. Jinks and Ash being the big brothers they were, jumped in saying " bachas we know how you feel, we will miss him too." said Ash followed by Jinks "even we wish we could have changed Mahi Bhais decision but we need to understand where he comes from". Vi who was silently observing this exchange said " He just retired guys, I agree he won't be with us every match like we are used to. but he will always be with us. He is always one call away, who says Mahi Bhai will stop all the things he did for us. He will continue doing them and you trust your Mahi Bhai right" to which everyone nodded as Vi continued "than trust this decision of his he always wants the best for us and has always does what's best for us." Even though it sounded like their Cheeku Bhaiya trying to convince himself, the Kiddos agreed nonetheless.
To distract them Rahul said " Good thing Mahi Bhai retired now he will train the next generation of ICT. The little ones need someone sensible to train them, so they don't be like their fathers who act like toddlers themselves" with a teasing grin looking towards his big brother and bestie. Out of nowhere he was hit with a water bottle by his best friend followed by a "oye Rahuliya what do you mean by that" followed by a flying apple. He scowled towards them rubbing his sore spots and muttered exactly what I meant. thus, started a whole new ruckus long forgetting their debate "What good has 2020 got us". This is how the support staff found them and along with an exasperated looking Ash and Jinks. They informed them of their negative test results and moved away without wasting a second as the boys jumped on each other hugging, jumping and yelling how much they missed each other.
