A very tired and grumpy looking Rohit Sharma dragged himself and his cricket kit to his room thinking how much he missed his bed. Oh, did he tell you he forgot his phone in his hotel room henceforth the grumpy mood as he couldn't talk to Sammy and Ritz. As soon as he reached, he took a warm shower and decided to call home to talk to his little patutie.
He took his phone and was shocked to receive many congratulatory messages. He opened Ritika's messages asking him to call her ASAP. scrolling down the messages he saw the one that made him jump out of bed it said "Anu gave birth to a girl." Rohit couldn't help but yell on the top of his lungs "YES YES YES IT'S A GIRL" while doing all sorts of tapori dances he knew. Jumping up and down he called his bestie who answered the phone in one ring and Ro demanded "I demand to see my sister and niece right this instance Mr. Virat Prem Kohli." but to his surprise his bestie started scolding him "is this the time to call someone who happens to be your best friend who also just happened to have just witnessed the birth of his daughter. For once be on time Ro. Your niece and sister are both fast asleep" Ro paid no heed to his blabbering best friend and said "ya ya I know I forgot my phone in my room. you have all life to scold me but now I want to see her."
Smiling at his bestie Virat turned the camera towards Anushka who was fast asleep and then turned it towards the crib where laid a baby sleeping peacefully with a cute pout on her face. Ro stared at her not finding words to say the word beautiful would be an understatement. She looked so serene so pious he just felt short of words to describe. "she's finally here. How is she and Nushkie" asked Ro. "both are good and healthy" said Vi. "she looks like you" was all Ro could say. Hearing his words, the baby churned in her sleep making a face making it very clear to her chachu and papa that they are disturbing her beauty sleep. Vi decided to go to the other room as he knows how to difficult it was for him and Nushki to get this little munchkin to bed. For his little one inherited his yelling skills that he was sure that the whole hospital heard her cry. Ro was still in the fix when he heard his best friend say, "we just managed to put her to sleep." Ro couldn't help and laugh at his statement and say, "she sure loves to sleep." Vi just rolled his eyes and said, "that's what babies do Ro they eat, sleep, poop and make everything beautiful."
Ro watched his brother newly turned father talk about his little one with so much love, care, the twinkle in his eyes doesn't seem to fade. Looking at him he thought about his daughter aren't they all precious. he still remembers when he held her in his arms for the first time. There have been many times in his life where he has been happy, proud and what not but the emotions that surfaced when he first held her were nothing compared to that. It was overwhelming, the warmth that spread in his chest looking at that little bundle was priceless. How can one love someone so much at the first sight, someone who cannot even talk, someone who is so small? He could fight the whole world for this little crying bundle. Daughters are just so beautiful and precious he thought. Ro knew the emotions his best friend was going through, and he asked "how are you really feeling Vi. Isn't this the best feeling ever?" Virat mirrored his expressions and said "to be honest I don't know what I feel we were waiting for her to come and now she is here. I was so nervous about this. Parenthood is something so new and nothing can prepare you for what it stores in it. you know I was so scared but the moment I had held her in my hands everything just disappeared. I can't believe she is mine, I made her. I just want to hide her from the whole world. No one can go near her. she is so beautiful even more beautiful than Nushkie. She is my daughter Ro, my daughter, can you believe it" Virat couldn't help but chuckle at his own statement, there was a time where he was very possessive about his wife, a time where he couldn't compare anyone to his beautiful wife but now he is saying that his daughter is more beautiful than her. Ro understood how he felt and laughed and said, "you do realise that you're the only one who made her, and you stop being possessive about my niece."
Rolling his eyes Vi said, "your niece happens to be my daughter." He remembers how he laughed when he heard Ro and Mahi Bhai repeat similar words when his nieces were born. "maybe you, me and Mahi bhai should team up." He heard Ro say out of the blue. Looking confused he asked, "for what?". Hearing Vi Ro couldn't help but exclaim "for an election you dufus!!! To protect them obviously. We need someone to protect them when we are away from them. Why do you think I take Sammy everywhere I go?" Virat couldn't believe he was considering his best friends idea but than he realised something "you do realise our wives are going to kill us if we even think of this and this time Sakshi bhabi won't protect us." Said Vi thinking about the times when he and Ro were nearly killed by their respective wives for being "helicopter husbands/ brothers" during the pregnancies of their wives and how their bhabi dearest intervened. Ro sighed knowing exactly what will happen. Both friends spoke and gave tips to each other discussing fatherhood. "how did the boys react when they found out?" asked a very curious Ro remembering the madness when Sammy was born. Vi laughed hearing his question "well Mahi bhai will be here tomorrow along with bhabi and ziva, Harry, Nats and Shreya has been here thrice already, most of them called and messaged already, Jinks and Jassi called a few minutes before you, Rahuliya video called more than he called Athiya in the last two years." Said Vi laughing remembering how his Rahuliya couldn't stop calling her Angel, how wanted to meet "his angel", how he cried looking at her, how he glared at everyone who would interrupt his talks with her, How he couldn't stop glaring at Aga, how he threatened him her father. Ro also laughed knowing how Rahul had been a helicopter brother during Nushkies pregnancy and said, "it's gotten worse in it." Nodding Vi said "like you wouldn't believe."
They both talked for a bit long and then hung up not before Ro saying "enjoy these moments with her as much as you can. You won't realise how fast they grow up. It feels like yesterday I held Sammy in my arms. You won't get these moments back live them and cherish them." Smiling Vi nodded and they hung up the phone as it is very tiring to handle a new-born baby and Ro had a long day as well. They said their goodbyes and congratulations one went to his bed whilst the other went to calm his now crying baby.
