That night I had a nightmare and it wasn't anything good. The nightmare was about me being captured and everything that I knew was destroyed.
And when I woke up, I saw a shadow creature outside the window. Then it faded away. It looked really familiar like I've seen it before, but when I told Oisann and the others about it, there were very suspicious.
"If you saw the shadow why didn't it attack any of us?" Luce asked.
"I think it knew us somehow." I answered.
"How is that even possible?" Belle asked.
"Hmm, well Veronica did tell me that I had a few shadows that called me their alpha. Maybe it was one of them." I said.
"Or it could've been a spy." Oisann said.
"Hey has anybody seen Gracie?" Luce asked.
"I thought she was with you?!" Oisann said.
"Well she wasn't with me that's for sure." Belle said.
Then I looked out the window and saw Gracie standing there as a shadow monster.
"Gracie?!"
"T-that can't be her!" Luce yelled.
"That's definitely her. Who else would wear that necklace?" I asked.
"We need to get out of here!" Belle yelled.
"We can't. They've blocked all exits!" Oisann yelled.
"Not every exit." Luce said.
Luce spread out his arms and casted a spell that made us teleport to an old mill.
"Ow!"
"Ugh! Seriously Luce!" Belle yelled.
"What?!"
"You couldn't've warned us that you were going to do that?!" Belle yelled.
"If I had said anything, they would've been able to stop me from doing it!" Luce replied.
"Well it got us out of there didn't it?" Oisann asked.
"Yeah, but hang on. Where is Afton?" Luce asked.
"I'm up here!" I somehow ended up in a tree.
"Afton how'd you end up up there?" Luce asked.
"I was going to ask you the same thing. And what's even worse is that my wing is busted now!" I yelled.
"Okay I've got you. Just jump I'll catch you." Oisann said.
"You sure?" I asked.
"100 percent, all you've got to do is trust me."
"Okay!" Although when I did jump I actually glitched a bit into a wolf, but thankfully, Oisann was still able to catch me.
"Got yuh. You okay?"
"Yeah, that was weird."
"You're telling me. I've never seen anybody glitch like that before. You like glitched into a wolf and then back to normal." Luce said.
"Well let's just keep moving, I'm pretty sure it was nothing." Oisann said.
"Hang on, Luce why didn't you teleport us in the first place?" I asked.
"I have to recharge after using the teleportation spell. Next time we have a chance to teleport us I'll let you know." Luce answered.
"So where do we go from here?" Belle asked.
"I think I know a guy who can help us, but he's pretty far." Luce said.
"Who?" I asked.
"Oisann and I have a cousin that lives in the snowy mountains. And from what I can remember, it's the only place where the shadows can't follow us." Luce said.
"Why's that?" Belle asked.
"Shadows are afraid of heights. How do I know that?" I asked myself.
"Well then that means all we have to do is stay in a tree house." Oisann said.
"Not high enough. Either the tallest building in the world or the mountains are the safest places to be until the eclipse." Luce said.
"Why until the eclipse?" Oisann asked.
"The eclipse gives the shadows strength in more ways than one. Which means that they would be able to get over their fear of heights." Luce answered.
"Okay then we better get moving or else we're lunch to those guys." I said, pointing to the shadow creatures coming from the nearby forest.
"Oh boy that is a lot of shadows." Luce said.
"We need to run. Go!"
We ran off as fast as we could until I turned back running towards the shadow monsters, almost running like Sonic the Hedgehog turning into a ball.
I was able to scare them off but only for a limited amount of time, and I summoned a whip into my hand and used it to make a bunch of trees block the shadows path.
"I don't know how long that'll hold them." I said.
"Afton how did you even do that?!" Belle asked.
"Easy, I used my imagination. Now come on we have to keep moving before they break through those fallen trees!" I yelled.
We ran off as fast as we could and managed to make it to an old shed.
