Almost There

Luce was just somehow infected by the shadow monsters and attacked Belle, and was about to come for us.

Oisann then used his powers to hold Luce in place to protect us, but in the process wolf ears, scaled and feathered wings, and a dragon like tail appeared on him. Oisann was definitely a hybrid of some kind.

Oisann and I ran off as fast we could, and managed to make it into a forest.

"Oisann what is going on with Luce?!" I asked.

"I don't know but we have to keep going. Go further ahead and don't look back!" Oisann said.

I ran off as fast as I could, and while I did Oisann transformed into a creature with a spiky halo, dragon wings, and a giant claw, he fought off the shadow monsters as much as he could and later ran back towards me.

"Oisann are you okay?" I asked.

"Yeah I'm fine, but we have to get as far away as possible from those things." Oisann said.

We ran off as fast as we could, but at the same time, an old cat like monster creature slowly followed us.

Later I noticed that my own powers were fading as the baby was getting stronger. I knew that it had already been five months since we started becoming pregnant.

After another month of hiding, the cat creature sneaked up to me.

"Shh. Don't give me away kid, if you do, he'll kill me." he said.

"What is it that you want?" I asked.

"I just want to help you get to the mountains. Please, I promise I won't hurt you or anything. I just want to help you and your family make it safely and alive."

"What's your name?" I asked.

"Cartoon, my monster form is Cartoon Cat, but most people just call me Cartoon." he said.

"I'm Leah, but my friends call me Afton."

"Well Afton, I'll do whatever I can to help you make it to the mountains." he said.

"Thank you Cartoon."

"Anytime."

Now that we had a shadow monster on our side, we had the upper hand of things. Cartoon knew where the other shadow monsters would be, and what they could do to stop us from getting to the mountains.

But as time went by, I could feel my powers fading even more as I felt the baby grow within me. I knew that it was going to be difficult getting up the mountains with me this way, but I had to do it or else we won't be able to survive.

The last place we rested, that I can remember, was an old mill and in the distance we could see the snowy mountains. We were so close, and so was the baby. It has been seven or eight months and the baby has been growing in me ever since we started.

"We should be able to make it to the village by tomorrow." Oisann said.

"Mhm, and hopefully soon. Afton hasn't been herself for the past month or so." Cartoon said.

"And where is she now?" Oisann asked.

"Oh she's resting. She told me that she could the feel the baby kicking again. I'm worried about her Oisann, that baby seems to want to come soon." Cartoon said.

"You're not the only one Cartoon, but I do have to ask, why are you helping us?"

"The other shadows didn't respect me at all. I was beaten up, tortured even by my own family. I had to leave. And then I saw you and Afton being pregnant. I thought that you two were a happy family, and I thought I could be happy with you. So I left the shadows behind and stayed with you." Cartoon answered.

"I'm sorry to hear about what they've done to you, but hey you're in a better place now. And don't worry, I'll make sure the village in the mountains don't do anything to you." Oisann said.

"I would like that."

Later in the morning, Oisann was woken up by a strange sound. Cartoon could hear it too, but it wasn't me or any wild animal in the area. It was the shadow monsters coming back!
