(Really Sorry if this chapter is a bit boring in the start but the ending is better! I had some important things to do irl)
The smallest room in the house, though Natalie thought it stood out the most. The view was perfect for early mornings and the sun would shine right where he could place his study desk.
"So this is going to be my study desk, and this is going to be my bed next to the door" Karl asked for her approval.
"Study desk should be over here."Her finger pointed to the opposite direction.
He didn't look like he liked that idea. The sun on his back? That's bound to give him a bad sun burn. "No no. My back would burn like hell""Oh, uh, sorry. You do you" That was oddly embarrassing but they didn't know why. Sometimes she prefers to sit in a box and simply pass away than deal with embarrassment.
"Music?" He offered while moving away from the last topic. Nat nodded while wiping down his window frame. The mic was placed next to his PC and so was the mini fake plant. The 'plant' sprouted out of a small little hedgehog-shaped pot, clearly you could tell that it was hand painted on by the colour difference in it's cheeks (one being a light shade of red and other being a pastel pink) Karl noticed it caught her eye in a surprised look "heh, the paint job was a bit wonky around the face. You paint too I'm guessing?"Looking up at him she placed it on the palm of her hand like a displace, cautiously hovering her hand from left to right. "Yeah, painting's nice. Relaxing too. I find this little hedgehog pretty cute too"
(cringe warning in the next line 😭✋)"I find you pretty cute too." Karl sputtered. Did I really just say that out loud- Karl you donut head, this is why you hate love at first sight. He spoke to himself as he felt his cheeks burn red.
"Pardon? You were mumbling, not my fault, hah." She resounded.
"Never mind, forget that."Karl fizzed. A lot of people would always insist on telling them what they had misheard, wasn't the most pleasant thing to hear if he was honest. Natalie didn't say anything or even mention anything about it; it was like she literally forgot about It when he phrased her too.
All that was left was a small piece of cloth that feather-fell onto the carpet under his desk. Natalie reached her hand out to reclaim the fabric. She bent down and suddenly- SLICE- (my best impression of a cut 💀✋). There was an intense pain on the side of her neck, the stupid corner of Karl's desk had stabbed a deep cut along her skin.
DAMN IT- DUMB AS DESK. She spat-in her mind.
A few drops of blood had fallen making dark maroon/red stains on the floor. Natalie cuffed her hand, applying pressure to her wound.
"Alrighty. Thanks for the help, Natalie. Could you pick that up pl- WhAT tHe HONK!???" His voice sounded like it hit puberty a thousand times combined, but instead it only made his voice higher. "OH MY HONK, WHAT THE HONK, WHAT THE HONK, EEEEEEEK IT'S DRIPPING EVERYWHERE" screeched the hoodie-wearing boy.Natalie was way to busy trying to not let it leak out from the palm of her blood covered hand. "JEEPERS, THAT HURTS LIKE HELL, SORRY, I TOLD YOU I WAS CLUMSY!" You could see the agony in her expression.
Karl raced around the room while opening all his drawers. "Let's get you patched up, QUICKLY!" He panicked as his trembling hands held up a bandage."Thanks for patching it up, Karl" Natalie said in relief. Karl was still hyperventilating like it was about to kill her, you could tell he was over exaggerating. They walked outside where they met Alex leaning against his door frame. "What the f*ck- The huge bandaid on your neck if you don't mind me asking?" He curiously questioned in a shock. As Karl was explaining the situation in the most dramatic way possible- Emily stepped beside Natalie inspecting her bandage covered wound.
"Woah, y'all met a week ago and he already gave you a hick-"
"That's disgusting, go away" Natalie snickered and rolled her eyes. "Now we just wait for Yastika I guess?"
"Guess so." Emily shrugged.
