''You left your diary in the greenhouse.. and I read those pages you really love me, baby''

As you stand by your mirror, closing your eyes and taking a deep breath to calm your nerves, you are beyond excited but terrified at the same time for the day ahead. Today will be your first day at Miss Robichaux's Academy for witchcraft in New Orleans.

Growing up, you had no idea you had these powers, despite causing little accidents like the rude children at school suddenly tripping over a stair, the relative you never particularly liked suddenly spilling their drink, all with an evil little glare from you. Having powers was something you never thought was possible until your parents finally decided to fill you in on the blood in your veins and gift running in your family.

At first, you didn't believe them, not until they showed you evidence and brought up Miss Robichaux's Academy for the first time. They showed you an interview that the headmistress Cordelia Goode had given, talking openly about witchcraft and powers. The rational side of you didn't believe it still but of course, you wanted to understand, learn about this side of you and so you started reading more about witchcraft, spells, and potions and getting to know yourself.

After university and a few side jobs here and there, however, you realized that those little mishaps that happen throughout the day, for instance, a customer being rude and suddenly spilling his drink or one of your old tutors being impossible having their car suddenly break down so the deadline would be extended. You realized that there was no way you could control these powers and truly get to know this side of you, without help.

However, your parents had always been supportive and pushing you to do the right things, attending the best schools, only getting the best part-time jobs with good pay. In the end, it came as no surprise that they set everything up with the Headmistress, getting you enrolled in the academy and booking you on a bus for the journey to New Orleans. You had been there before, remembering a few vacations or day trips over to the sunny city and remembering the architecture, unique buildings, the people, and also the city filled with color.

Looking at the time, you remember that your bus will be here soon, as well as your parents as they insisted on at least saying goodbye to you, even though you won't be too far away. However, you couldn't blame them as your relationship with them had always been a good one.

As you look in the mirror one more time, making sure you grabbed your bag on the way out, which consist of some clothes, phone, earphones, and your diary, as it had always been a form of escaping to you, writing emotions, feelings and thoughts down, instead of keeping them all in, you feel excited about this new upcoming journey and where it might lead.
