Day 1:
Are you lost enough?
Have another drink, get lost in us
This is how we get notoriousFrom the rich brown earthen hues of the forest ground to the sweetness of the blue-white sky, the forest is a three dimensional wonderland. Draco and Veronika stopped as the path ahead was suddenly alive with the hopping of small brown frogs no bigger than a galleons. She grinned. Ordinarily she wouldn't have a chance of catching one but there were dozens of them, how could she miss? She crouched down and as she scooped one up she felt it lie cold against her skin.
"You like Animals?"
"A lot... Look how beautiful it is" Veronika expressed as she let the small creature jump into Draco's palm, who's now disgusted look turned to a smile as the frog's cool and delicate skin met his, then he opened his hand gently, allowing the late sunshine to fall on the earthy creature that lay captured in his fingers, he felt a frisson of awe to see its eyes, sticking up and glossy. They watched it go, hopping frantically for the plant cover at the sides of the path. After some minutes, Veronika found a shadowed spot and due to tiredness they decided to take a break. She took her wand and waved three times, making a picnic basket and a blanket appear, she lead the boy over it as she took out the opened wine bottle.
"Veronika, is it true you fancy Viktor Krum? You would make a good couple, the best seekers in Europe" Draco teased as he took one of the offered sandwiches.
"I have no interest in him" She refuted with a small pout and he nodded, leaning his head against her shoulder. "And what about you? Is it real you like Potter?"
"Yes... I mean No! I do not"
"It's okay, dear. I won't judge you" she spoke in a soft tone, stroking his hair with her hand. "Love is invisible, undetectable with anything but our minds. The only way to understand it is to feel it, embody it, embrace it. The power of love will always be greater than any other..." Veronika kept muttering into his fluffy hair, the sound of her voice was soothing. The sunset is merely a prelude to the dawn, yet its majesty fills his mind with the most beautiful of dreams. As his eyes drift to rest, his skin cooled by the breeze, for the first time in ages, he felt free.
"Onika"
The german witch’s shoulders slumped as a voice called out to her. She knew who it was. Draco turned around, watching her walking towards a black haired man, his eyes color dancing between blue and green.
"Till"
The man saw the shock register on her face before she could hide it and he took two steps closer, placing a kiss on her lips which made her quickly pull out her wand, pressing it against his neck.
"I remember every night, every hour, every second. Ich liebe dich–"
"You said you will come back, it been fucking 6 months. You never came back... You are a liar" she yelled, turning her head away to hide her tears "Go away, Till, Go away" she choked, barely holding back her tears. Draco reached out and hugged her tightly, his arms as shields of love, a hug so warm.
"I had no choice... Veronika, your father is the reason I left, he swore to kill both of us if he saw us together again.... I left because I didn't want to put you in danger... I never lied to you. Give me a chance to explain" he said, trying to wipe her tears but was stopped by the strong smack on his hand from Draco. She took a deep breath then turned to face him.
"Tomorrow, midnight, I'll let the window ajar and now leave before I change my mind" Veronika answered, and that's all he needed to hear before transforming to a wolf and running away into the woods.
On their way home, Draco promised her to not mention anything of what happened earlier infront of her father to not cause problems. She sat alone in her room, music is playing background, carelessly turned up to an inconsiderate point of volume. Looking at the mirror, flash of memories passing by, remembering their first meeting in one of her aunt's fields where he worked as a peat cutter, the way her father was very fond of him, welcoming him in house, letting him in as a family member but everything changed when he found out about his lycanthropy.
Frustrated, angry, fed-up, Veronika punched the mirror, causing it to crash onto millions pieces on the floor. Despite the loud music, Lucius heard the crash and he knew something was wrong. After knocking on her room's door six times, he managed to actually get it open, getting greeted by the sight of Veronika's dancing: swaying, twisting, a broad grin on her face, eyes closed, her cheeks flushed. A glass clutched in her hand, that was bleeding profusely. Veronika smiled at him then turned to take one of the vodka bottles that was innocently perched on the table. It seemed useless to talk to her, since she was drunk so he took hold of her forearm, leading her to the bathroom. There, he sat her on the toilet seat and released his hold on her arm. He then opened the cupboard under the sink, pulling out some alcoholic wet wipe, cleaning the wound then gently wrapping a bandage around her knuckles."Thanks, Doctor" she whispered, looking at him, sunken deep green eyes looking into wide clear blue eyes.
"You need to rest, and tomorrow we are gonna have a small talk"
